Car is in service. Good time to ask about MPE?

Hit a giant pothole. Car needs to get alignment done and new wheel coming in. Is it a good time to ask about getting an m performance exhaust tacked on?

If so, do I talk to service rep? Or parts department?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as always.

Always a good time to upgrade while the car is in the shop for something else.

Talk to the Svc Manager. He would have all the answers. Unfortunately, they will likely have to order the part, meaning you won't save a service visit.

Yes that's about the right price, unfortunately. If you want it, they can probably get it overnight so you could save a service visit if they've not done your alignment yet, and if your loaner isn't a Mazda.

Get the part from Sun and do the install yourself. It's stupid easy. I did the MPE on my wagon in 15 mins.

Don't quote me on this but, anytime I look into it I see people say (no gains, 4hp, and 7hp).

So no clue. I am in it for the sound mostly. I want to get the MPE and combine it with fabspeed sport cat down pipe. That sound is just amazing

There is a guy referenced on these forums in PA who sells the MPE at a discount. I contacted him and he offered MPE for $1300 and carbon fiber tips for about $500 if I remember correctly.

I told my local dealership and they matched the price. If you get chrome tips I think you could get MPE and tips for less than $1500. Another option is to buy them used. I also added the dinan midpipe and it’s amazing. No real HP gains for the money but the sound transforms the character of the car
