Looking for an nput. What u guys think about swapping the black ones onto my 235?
Its a pretty good deal and he lives in my town. Hes also looking for an 18” trade. So maybe hand him mine(curb rash but are straight and with tires) for a couple bux iff? And here is a pic of size. They look like they would fit perfectly ok. I do have spacers already and springs. Thanks in advance. ? |

The 20” rim with F 225/35 and R 255/30 tires will have rolling diameters that are considerably larger than stock. Stock front is 225/40-18 so 225/35-20 is 1.1” diameter larger than stock, and rear stock is 245/35-18 so 255/30-20 is 1.3” larger in diameter. The 20” wheel offsets are ~0.4-0.5” more aggressive than stock 18” staggered wheels which isn’t a problem (could run 5 mm, maybe 10 mm, spacers based on quick estimates). However, I’d pass on this 20” setup because the tire diameters are too large compared to stock. They don’t offer (at least I couldn’t find them) 20” tires with even shorter sidewalls to get to stock tire diameters and, if they did, then it would be so thin that ride quality would suffer and it would be a very harsh ride. Also, would definitely be more prone to wheel damage. 20” diameter wheel is just too large for the F22.

So I understand the whole diameter will be an inch or so bigger so do u think this will just not look good or will not fit? The seller stated he had zero rubbin on his bmw. I wana go look at these. I understand that it will lift the car up just a bit which shouldn’t be enough to bother me or the suspension. What else do u guys think? |

I think the f22 looks great with 18” wheels but I’d go no larger than 19”. Haven’t seen too many 19” wheels unless they’re custom forged wheels. The Apex forged 18” VS-5RS or flow forged 18” EC7 look good on the f22. Unfortunately BMW designed the f22 to accept a very limited set of high offset wheels and limited tire sizes. I’d go no wider than 235/255, maybe 245/255. I have a m240ix so I have to keep the F-R diameter difference to be < 1% which limit size options. |

wayy too large. on stock suspension it is VERY difficult to fit 9" wide in the front. I personally would also stay away from 19" diameter since in order to run them it'll require that you run a sidewall thickness of 3" which will look like rubber bands and feel like it too. This will greatly increase your likelihood of bending your wheel upon impacts like potholes. The offset of the wheels that you've shown are also far off. The 2 series is unfortunately very limited to the 30-42 offset in the front and in the rear it can be a little more generous up to 52. The tires included on the wheels that you sent are far too wide and far too tall. This will greatly effect your speedometer to the and cause damage to driveline components since they're not meant to exceed a 3% difference in height. Stock suspension owners aren't able to fit anything greater than 245 in the front and 255 in the rear.
Hope this helps. Reading over it I sound like I'm bashing on you on deciding that you want 19" wheels. I don't mean for that it to be that way but I just want you aware of the drawbacks. There's a reason that most of us stick to 17" and 18". Especially those of us who are performance focused. |
