Exhaust note for VRSF downpipes + stock catback
Posted this in another thread. Sounds pretty good to me and I didn't see any other videos with this setup so I thought I'd post it if anyone was looking into this setup.

upgrading the downpipe is the most economical way to upgrade the exhaust sound

Before installing the DPs I was already planning on what catback setup I was going to get. But, after hearing just the DP I decided against getting anything else.

Catless. It did throw a CEL even with the spacer that people say fixes it. I haven't looked much further into fixing it. For now I just clear the code if I bring it in for work.

Maybe the 90 degree one is made for the catless pipe. It was one like this: https://shop.redline360.com/products...hoChg8QAvD_BwE

I can vouch for this setup. Before, i had a VRSF catless dp paired with a dinan midpipe and AP intake. Obnoxious and trashy lawn-mower-type sound.
Took out the dinan midpipe to replace it with the stock dual resonated one, and now it sounds beautiful. Wish it was maybe 20 or 30% louder, but the note and quality of the sound is now amazing. Highly recommend the AP intake though! It is such a vivid and nicely loud sound, and perfectly compliments the stock exhaust w/ catless dp. Everytime you let off the throttle, all you hear is your turbo whistling, natural burbles, and the intake's mean sounding woosh.

Although it didn't work at first, only after the MHD BEF + JB4. YMMV |
