Jb4 is probably the better option for leased cats since you need to return it.

I'm on a lease currently on JB4 probably going to BM3 when it launches.

My reason, I'm a bit fed up with removing the JB4 physically for dealer visits. Also keep reading about the smoothness of the BM3 over the JB4 (not that the JB4 is bad and is jerky or anything).

At this point i'm also considering a JB4 backend flash.

I'm still thinking about this BM3 a lot and will probably still get it !

Both are good options and will give you lots of additional power.

Fyi on my previous 230i (which unfortunately got totalled) with JB4 and intake only, on map 5 (+6psi) with octane booster (total around 100 octane) I managed 13.09 1/4 mile and was on my way to high 12s.

i recommend you search the forum , lots of threads discusses flash vs jb4

Bootmod3 has a smoother power delivery, complete ECU control and no hardware install, burble tune.

Jb4 is cheaper, with a lot of free maps, power, even a custom map, methanol injection control and cool features including an auto tune map. Also adds an extra layer of safety with the JB4 going to stock power as soon as car goes lean or overboost

Running both at the same time will give you the best of both worlds

First you need to decide which tune you would like to get , then go to our website to place the order

If you're asking that question, I'd suggest you keep the car stock for now.

Should i just get the dinan tune? Or get the jb4? Im going to get it professionally installed. Im leaning towards dinan because of the warranty and not having to remove when i visit dealer

We offer both, Jb4 is the more popular option since it offers more for less.

You can always remove it before your dealership visit, its a 100% safe tune

Personally, I opted for the Dinan tune after extensive research. The JB4 definitely gives you a ton more for the money but the smoothness of the Dinan tune was very attractive.

Current iteration the Dinan Elite V2 is absolutely fantastic. Power delivery is so smooth it feels like stock until you wind out the motor where the added power really shines. It's perfect for daily driving with the occasional time-attack day thrown in.

That being said, any tune you opt for is the right choice. The B46 is a great motor and a tune really makes it shine.

Im thinking of getting the dinan tune, so that i have the warranty protection. It will be installed by a bmw shop locally. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Is the performance noticeably faster?

I got the jb+ so far and I like it. I'm thinking about the bm3 though. Tempting but at the same time don't want to mess with warranty. Plus it's not out for our engines yet, so...
_2fast2furious_ It won't feel like a M240i swap but your butt_dyno should be happier (I think).

How warranty friendly in the bm3? (If you know)
I know you can reflash the stock map but is there any trace left of unlocked DME or something else?
If taken in for maintenance, would you have to reflash it every time?

Absolutely worth it. Power is very noticeable and delivered in a smooth, stock-like fashion.

There is always going to be a trace even you flash the stock map

Alright guys before i finalize my purchase, one more time which one is the best: jb4, bm3, or dinan stage 1 elite? Do you get the same horsepower from each? Is the jb4 cheaper? With the jb4 do you have to remove it every time before dealer visit? Thanks

Thanks!

If you're going Dinan, get yourself the Dinan Elite V2.

Depends on the dealership. If Dinan-authorized then Dinan no and JB4 questionable since they might not care. I know my dealership in San Antonio will go nuts if they see my JB+ so very yes for me. JB4 is cheaper. ~640 (with bluetooth) vs 899 Dinan. Probably bm3 going to be 599 when out (withouth bluetooth which is 240 I think).
Warranty-wise probably Dinan is the best. Smoothness - I bet bm3 since it's the complete flash (and burbles ). Raw power - jb4.
Still can't decide myself. Want to see bm3 numbers before anything though.
Hope this helps
