H & R Springs and Spacers Installed
Hi Guys,
Finally had my H & R sports springs installed today as well as some ECS Tuning spacers (12.5 mm front and 15 mm rear). Overall i am very happy with how they came out. The ride feels about the same if not a tad tighter and I have had no issues with rubbing and from what I can tell I shouldn't have any issues, theres clearance. Here are some before and after shots through the process. I do want to say the spacers were a very tight fit not that thats an issue for now but getting them off in the future might be tough. Only real issue we faced was that the rear spacers (15mm) was that the spacers would not fit flush against the rotors because of the dust caps. So what we ended up doing was removing the dust caps and actually putting them on the spacer itself before putting the spacer on the wheel. We also put a dot of crazy glue on the cap so it would not spin in the spacer. And then we were able to put the wheel and spacer on no problem. These are pictures of that process: One other consideration that I did not think about is that after having the suspension and all done you will need an alignment which I will hopefully find the time to do tomorrow. Lastly a huge shoutout to the guys over at WTF Motorsports in Orlando! If your thinking about modding your BMW in Central Florida these guys are progressional, very helpful and do a great job. Feel free to PM me for contact info! Before and After: Other Pics: Also if anyone is interested I have a thread tracking all my modifications on the car which you can feel free to check out here: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=998066

I will and more impressions if my views change as well. And for the dust cap they used a flat head screw driver and just pried it off. Its just snapped in there. But to put it on the spacer it dosent sit super tight which is why we decided to put just a drop of super glue to keep it in place.

You used the ECS... and am wondering if the Burger set allows for better dust cap fitment? Curious on this one.
Tech reminder to all: when wheels are off, clean even new hubs with wire brush, wipe clean and apply a small layer of anti-seize around outside of hub. New wheels and hubs start the differing metals & rusting process, and above will make it very easy for later removal. |

Were the wheel spacers specific to the M235i or did they used ones made for another BMW?
Reason I ask is because I don't see any wheel spacers for the M235i on ECS's website and also H&R shows different part numbers and for the M235i and the E90 for example. Thee M235i has a center bore of 72.5mm while the E90 has 72.5mm and that could explain why the fitment was so tight. |

did you encounter any issues with your headlights being aimed to low after the H&Rs were installed?

Tried on 15mm in the rear today and shop seems to think the side will rub if i hit a bump. They said it wasn't safe and need a bit of neg camber in the rear.
I just don't to rip out my bumper if I hit a deep pot hole. |
