the exterior mirrors can not auto fold in on F23

Yesterday, I added the "Comfort Access" module.
and I find that the "Closing" function is different from F22.
The exterior mirrors would not fold in when I touch the surface on the door handle.

I wonder if the technicians are coding something wrong, when I was told that the F23 really doesn't have that feature

However, I search the manual and find that.

you can try folding them from inside with the mirror control. my 2018 f23 has folding and will fold from a touch to lock in the door handle. they do not fold using the fob lock button, i think.

YES, it is.

The function of the “Folding in and out” button is OK inside, it just can't lock my door and fold the mirror simultaneously.

I need to pull out my key from the bag or somewhere and hold the BMW button, that is inconvenient, more or less.

Maybe the BMW engineers found some potential risk and cut down the function.

I had to code it for my '15 228i conv. It doesn't work perfectly however: I have to press and hold the lock button on the fob for a couple of seconds. That's not a problem when the top is up, but when the top is down the latches open up like this:

I've got a 2018 convertible and I use the following mirror settings. My mirrors fold automatically without a delay with comfort access. With the remote I need to stay on the button a split second longer. When I have the mirror settings this way the delay value is unassigned. If I set a delay, the "fold/unfold mirrors automatically" is unset.

You should remove your rear headrests. Easy to do better visibility when the tops up.

That brings up another problem: Those headrests are locked in place. I've seen where some models have a button to release them but mine don't have those buttons, and I've tried as well as had several people stronger than myself try to pull them out and they won't budge.

i had mine removed at the dealership. it took an incredible amount of strength to do it. the top was down, which was good because when they let go i think he'd have ripped the top on the rebound. there is a small slot in the post, where a tang goes, holding them in. this has to be defeated. there might be a way to do that other than massive force but i don't know it.

The roll-over/impact bars sit behind the rear headrest, so removing them is OK if you don't have any passengers. Otherwise on impact (doesn't have to be an actual roll-over) the bars shoot up with some force.

The Owner's Manual is clear about not removing them, so it's your liability. I suspect the liability issue is why they can be easily removed on Euro models but are fixed firmly in place on US variants. I do remove mine but keep them in the trunk, but then they come out/go in easily on my UK model:

Apologies for the sound quality. And when I say "It's not particularly difficult to remove." I don't mean to be patronising - this is true in the UK, but I'm aware that in other countries it's almost impossible to do so, or at least a real faff.

Came out on my 2017. Top down, stand on rear seats, pull up. They didnt want to budge at first, but they slide right out once they start moving.
