how do you get coins out of underseat air vents?

CPO 230i I picked up a few weeks ago has a few coins in the under seat air vent. I was able to get one penny out by a combination of stopping short down hill in reverse and max fan on footwell but there is at least one more coin in there.

Is there a better way?

thanks...

Yep, take the seat out.

Everything becomes much easier, don't ask me how I know.

Vacuum cleaner attachment? Coat hanger or paint stirrer with a wad of duct tape on the end?

I guess I should have tried some simple ingenuity before asking but, in my defense, this board is so good I expected someone would answer by describing the design of the duct work, where the coins were likely lodged, and a 45 second process to solve the problem.

Seriously, after having been away from BMW for over 4 years it makes you appreciate how great this community is when you come back.

I'll try the simple solutions and then take the seat out if all else fails.

If you have to take the seat out, don’t forget to disconnect the battery first to avoid setting any SRS errors if the car is powered on when the seat air bag is disconnected.

Also, when disconnecting the battery, fold down the rear seats just in case you close the trunk with the battery disconnected, so you can still get into the trunk when the electric only release is inactive.

That will only work for a 1943 penny, or some
foreign coins.

I recently watched a DIY vid where they tied a shop rag around the trunk latch-loop before disconnecting the battery, so you can't accidentally lock yourself out - one of those obvious genius tricks I'd not thought of myself.

Extendable magnet with masking tape wadded up around the end did the trick. Had 2 quarters in there. Apparently the vent duct dips down and then comes back up again and the coins were sliding around in that low place.
