Nope - too fugly for me. Not sure what the hell Toyota was thinking when they inked this design.

In Canada the C8 1LT is $69,998 CAD ($53,119 USD) and the GR Supra 3.0 is $69,566 CAD ($52,791 USD), both before sales tax. So only $328 more for a far superior car.

Seeing as I paid more than $10K less for essentially the same drivetrain, no way would I buy this. I don't think it looks bad in person, but it's not worth the extra money.

Fan of the original Supra myself, but I'd much rather have my M240i as a daily. The window noise thing would kill me (I'll ride windows down in the dead of winter) and gotta have a back seat.

I'd have certainly entertained the idea. I do like the fact it comes with 275's on the back and can probably fit wider. We're stuck with 265's max, which simply can't put down close to 500 WHP. It's also got better gearing, which allows it to get into the 10's pretty easily on the stock turbo.

Ugh, I waited for “the new Supra” for so many years, but no manual is a non-starter for me.
Bought an M2c instead and I’m happy with it. Never seriously thought of myself as a someone who would buy a BMW until the Supra forced me to imagine myself in one, so it gets credit for that I suppose. |

Given that it has as many fake aero vents as an M car has m badges, I'd say no.
I still don't understand Toyota's thinking as to why to put fake vents on a 60k sports car that technically could have used them. |

The ergonomics and visibility are also bad. The way the roof drops over the doors makes it really hard to get in and out without bonking your head, and it cuts into the sight lines. Rear visibility is horrible. And sadly, since it would be my DD and only car, it's just a bit too small. The trunk access is tiny on the Supra, making the already small trunk virtually worthless. But that's a different lament that applies to any real sports car. My 235 is just the right size. |

This from a guy who drives an Audi TT? Those things are nearly as ugly as the 2000's VW Bugs.

I wouldn’t say the TT is ugly, more a bit boring for a sporting orientated car, but it is definitely dynamically inferior to the M240i having the Golf driveline and significant understeer that the electronics can’t fully quell due to the maximum 50% drive that the Haldex system can send to the rear. Our Golf R is quite practical with the hatch (an advantage over the TT), but feels safe with it’s FWD biased platform compared with the more exciting RWD biased 2-series. I far prefer driving our RWD M240i anytime I don’t need the hatch, so the Golf R is normally relegated to shopping car duties, even when there is snow on the ground.

Objectively, neither is. Nothing is beautiful or ugly except for each of us to decide for ourselves.

I saw a base-trim C8 on the road a few days ago. It was absolutely stunning. GM hit it out of the park with that car at least in terms of styling and price.
Would I buy one? Frankly I'd love to own one as a toy but the impracticality of the two-seaters stops me, just as it keeps me away from various Porsches that I like. |

Regardless of how much they do it for me, from a design standpoint the TT is very interesting. They're trying to do a lot and they're being very different in the process. It doesn't really look like very much else on the road and some of the detail work in the design of the TT is really cool as well. I like how the 2-series looks more, because I'm fairly conservative with my car styling preferences, but as a piece of design it's hard for me to argue that the TT isn't superior. But as Sportstick pointed out, there's no such thing as a consensus when it comes to something that's 100 percent opinion. |
