The Dreaded Drivetrain Malfunction Warning

Ran low on gas and before I could fill up the tank received the caution message to drive moderately and call service as soon as possible.

After I filled up with gas the warning went away. However, before I got home it came back on. Before I take the car into the dealer I did my obligatory Google search and discovered it could be one of many issues.

Here's what I did:
- Bypassed the Dinan Elite V2 Piggy-back
- Read error codes P10F3. Cleared both stored and pending
- Drove for about a half hour in bypass mode and no issues
- Reconnected Dinan Piggy-back and drove for another half hour; stopping at the store, brief run on the highway, etc. with no issues.

This is the second day and no faults. Must have been running the car so low on fuel even though I still had over a gallon left some gunk got caught up in the injectors.

If the warning comes back on, then probably a Dealer visit. I'm sure they'll blame it on the Dinan harness even in bypass mode. Ahhhh, the trials and tribulations of tuning your car.

Third day and no issues. Added 20oz of concentrated Techron just in case. Read some old threads that this has happened to a lot of the track guys when they cornered hard when low on fuel.

That code is a charge air code, not necessarily a fuel related code. Is your charge pipe stock?

Charge pipe is stock. Think it's leaking? I will double check the connections.

They are very prone to cracks even in stock form. If you have a dinan piggy back running more boost you should definitely get an aftermarket charge pipe

You know, this is like a duh moment. I am fixing other things that come with the warning, completely ignoring the code I read. Wow, must be working too hard. Maybe this was one of those instances when the piggy back and ECU didn't sync. If it happens again, I agree with upgrading to an aftermarket charge pipe and hope I can find one that looks stock because I live in Cali.

Anything wrinkle black should be fine. It's tucked in there. I think they also may be carb compliant, but I'm not sure

Even though I have not had any new CELs or warnings, I am changing out the Charge Pipe to this week. Went with the Evolution Raceworks in annodized black.
