I had this colour on a 6 series. I looked amazing in sunlight. It's a pig to hide swirl marks though.

Those photos make the wheels and the wheel arches look too small for the car. Not so bad IRL though.

Deep Sea Blue / Oyster

Took the new girl up twisty & dusty Stunt Road from Calabasas (near Los Angeles) to the summit where you can see both the west valley on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, back down the mountain to PCH through Malibu.

I really like this blue on the car; this one came with the black M grill which I actually will be swapping out for the stock chrome one. IMO it's a bit out of place.

Amazing drive & scenery, but beware of cops! A thoughtful guy in a convertible E46 warned me before I encountered two speed traps within a mile of one another.

Full gallery here, you can compare photos of this color side by side with Midnight Blue: https://www.flickr.com/photos/55383734@N02/

+1. I tried asking a few times to no avail. I love deep sea blue. IMO it's very elegant yet sporty. I like it much more than Estoril Blue.

I like this blue too…though I'm not sure I like it better than the Estoril Blue. I just left my dealer and they have a new M6 Gran Coupe in "San Marino Blue" that I think beats them all. Found a quick pic on google below that doesn't come close to what it really looks like.
GAWD is is rich looking in person...

I was hoping maybe if someone went to a dealer with enough pull they could make it happen. I don't see a reason to exclude this color. I love EB, but I'd much rather have me a darker blue. Lemans Blue would be amazing.

Deep Sea Blue left for the 2 Series very well.
Variation according to light condition tones.
cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, touch teal, night blue
The wonder of Merck pigments in BMW cars.
4 colors in 1.
Is timeless.
It's the perfect balance.
Because Estoril is pure sportiness.
And Midnight Blue is pure elegance.

Thanks! It's hard to screw it up when the car / setting are so photogenic.

I think it's a shame they don't' offer it. For me, Estoril is too loud. Melbourne Red / Oyster is a great combo too! I don't think this car looks bad in any combo.

Love the color! I liked it on the 135iS and I like it on the 228i. I agree about the grille. Looks very much out of place.

This color has the potential to be a "rare" color due to the fact that it won't be around the entire 2er production run.
When the facelift/230i refresh happens I don't think they will continue on with this color. Deep Sea Blue is the oldest blue color offered of the blue colors. Midnight an Estoril II are "new" colors.

Something Different: 228i Sport DSB with CR & Track Pack

A few shots of my new baby... I plan to chance the plate (which was transferred from the Volt that came to lease end) to BMWFUN in April when this one expires.

Picked up today!

I picked up my new 228i xDrive today. So excited! It was nice and dry when I picked it up, but snowing really hard by the time I got home. It did great in the snow.
