Turbo dying
I think my turbo is dead, or about to be...
Power seems like its lost substancial power although the meters do creep up to about 340hp it usually only shows 245 when im WOT... On a stage 2 tune i think it should show much higher.. but its an ots map so maybe thats what it is. Im also getting this whining noise, its more of an electrical sound than a police siren, but i can hear it. Also it seems like i cant push more boost than 11 psi through most the power band.. power feels flat. I think they are toast, and 45k of high abuse is a decent life expectancy. Anyone had turbos go bad, or can comment on what to look for on n55? Also anyone have a shop that has swapped n55 turbos in the tri state that you would recommend, lmk.

same harness, i have to replace the main harness, no one wants to do it. Not even bmw...

i have one. need to put it in.
im pretty sure acuators are stuck too, and from heat, wheels messed up rubbing making whistle sound. saw some other videos online n54, n55, same sounds. pretty sure turbo is cooked or about to be. Plan is new turbo & DV+ install. just need to find a good shop.

the dinan one was sold, i woulda threw that one in.
ill probably throw a pure stage 2 in. If stock is going to be 2k, pure really isnt that much more for alot more power.

Id probably go with a smaller speedtech unit. Afterall the Pure stage two is still a hybrid. With how hard you work the car on the track the EGTs will get high with the stock manifold.
Also I would argue that the turbos speedtech uses are more reliable. Though it will cost more.

Well you would loose boost infact no boost at all. every time you tryed to boost you would get a stupid weuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu sound you would eventually start to smoke badly out the back.. I blew my turbo a few months back and thats what happened to me. yes you still have vaccum and it would be its norman 25 driving and 20 when idle. with no dv your car would run like shit.. you need that dv to release the pressure. with a broken dv you would get a hisss at higher boost and your car would just be flat out weak. hope that can help. that weeuuuu sound is exactly what im getting.. xtreme power house has the best price in ps2 right now it seems. mike if you online, pm me.

looks like pure stage 2 fellas...
