Tracking production using "My Garage"

Some of you probably know this, but once you have a build number, you can track your vehicle through the production process by logging into "My BMW", then navigating to "My Garage". It's a pretty slick interface with a depiction of your vehicle similar to the configurator.

Problem is, there seems to be quite a lag in the "my garage" status (or my vehicle is stuck in the process). Calling the BMW USA 800 number gives me an "estimated" completion date of 6 Feb (tomorrow)

However, "my garage" is still indicating "production start" (equivalent to status 150)

Anyone have a similar experience with "my garage"? I'd like to have a baseline from someone else's experience to give me an idea of how much lag there is, or how delayed my production might be.

My production date when I called last week was for today. Yesterday it showed production begins like yours. It is now showing "assembly in progress" on mybmw, so expect to see updates tomorrow on its progress on the website.

Thanks for the info! I'll expect semi-miraculous progress on the tracker soon. Nice choice on your spec, BTW. When are you expecting delivery?

Hopefully by the end of the month, current lease is up on the 24th

Once it hits production the stages fly by. It took my M240i forever to get off the first stage but after that it was waiting for a carrier within a couple of days. My car is currently on the Tranquil Ace 1/2 way across the Atlantic. Can't wait!

The two of you called it, "entering assembly line" status this morning - skipped through body assembly and paint booth!

I wouldn't rely on it too heavy. Mine was at the Port ready to depart, then on the ship for a week, then back at the Port ready to depart, then surprisingly on the truck heading to the dealer. The little dots actually went backwards. It was not accurate through the whole process.

Believe me, it is 150% better than it was just 3 years ago when I ordered my M235i. Now, when I placed my first special order in 08' for a 135i that was an different story altogether. It was was horrific.

Figure about 2 weeks and you should have it. Mine is in transit scheduled for delivery this Saturday! I'm sorry to see my M235i go. It's been one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Olympian Highway (K Line) is at Bremerhaven today, departing tomorrow for US east coast. Manon (W/W) will arrive a Bremerhaven tomorrow for a US run. I'm betting our rides will be on one of those.

Just curious, where's the line between having fun tracking these things and becomming obsessive...?

Mine will also hopefully be joining your cars on one of those ships, my guess has been Manon.

Mine went "in transit" status this morning. IDK which ship yet. Should be either Olympian Highway or something which left a bit earlier under my radar. Manon is in Bremerhaven right now. You can see it easily on the webcam also, if you're so inclined.

I'm doing PCD, so mine should be rolling off at Charleston. BMW wouldn't schedule a March delivery experience for me (only willing to schedule April, probably wanted a cushion in case of delays). Looks like my Bimmer gets a vacation in SC before going to work! I'm going to check with my dealer to see if I can get that moved up in the schedule.

^^^I'm still at "At The Port" status.

I would bet that our cars will be on different ships. My port of entry is Baltimore?

GL/Cheers,

Mine made the Olympian Highway. If yours is on Manon, it's leaving Bremerhaven tonight. Cheers indeed!

Looks like the ship arrived safely in Britain yesterday. Pretty cool that a shipspotter posted the video. That's one big boat.
