M235i Replaces 3 Series on Car and Driver's 10 Best List 2015
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Among the 10 selected, the M235i is the only BMW, replacing the 3-series and ending its long reign. For the first time in more than two decades. Source: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...f-2015-feature Quote:

Having the 3 series dropped from 10 best after being on it for over twenty years should seriously concern BMW. That is not a good thing at all. And I agree 'M235i' is a convoluted name.

You won't regret it. I came from a 335i and the 235 is a blast to drive on and off the track. I will likely consider an M2 when my lease is up but for now it definitely does the job.

It won't concern them one bit. The M235i is on there to replace it and I can promise you they're just fine with that.

Nice find and awesome to see a few of the same cars I was considering on the same list.

i think the bigger news here is that the 3 didn't make it...basically C&D saying sorry...we can take a lot of recent BMW flack...but we can't take that!

Tough to narrow down to 10 but I do have to say their list looked arguably pretty decent and more realistic for the masses.

I believe the reason the M235i made it and not the 3 series is the 2 is just plain more fun. And as one who is always shopping for a bargain (in addition to article looking for value for the money), the 235 is hard to beat. Great performance, combined with great mpg, and surprisingly good utility (some complain about the rear seat room, but as an exclusively coupe owner, I think the rear seat is very good for a 2+2), all at a relatively reasonable price. Shop at what you can get for $45K-$50K. In that price range, you can get equivalent American muscle car performance, but not mpg. Or, go with a Hyundai Genesis coupe, Infiniti (whatever they're calling it now) coupe, even the new Lexus coupe (although truth be told it is a very good looking car), and you don't get near the performance, worse mileage, and still costs the same.

Whoa, 3-Series falls off the list...was kind of expecting that to happen, honestly, but still big news.
M2 might be on there in a few years if the price is right. |

Good news but it sad that after 23 years the 3 series is not on that list anymore

wake up call? WTF? Its bigger, softer and there is a ton of competition. The marketplace has changed. Hardly any demand for MT and huge demand for softer suspension and AWD. Wake up call?? I don't get that.

When the 3 series grew to the size of the e39(5 series)what do you expect. The 2 series is what 3 series used to be.
