What phone and which BT adapter do you have?

I'm on iOS with VeePeak BLE+ and no issues using BC.

You couldn't gt bimmercode to work? did the app communicate with the car? Which communications adapter are you using? Is it wifi or bluetooth?

Marco: I used Veepeak Bluetooth. 2016 M235i. with iPhone IOS. It didn't work. Does anyone want to hear the Carly horror story? Don't use Carly - nasty people!.

You have the exact same setup as me ('16 car, iPhone XS, Veepeak) and mine works flawlessly. Did you watch a YT video and follow it step by step?

Yeah what happened with Carly?

I signed up with Carly one time only many years ago, when they were called BMWha. Then they abruptly changed to a yearly subscription, and wouldn't honour my membership. No invoice to speak of, all done on line. Ugly people.
No, did not see the You Tube. Are you on Bluetooth, Kenny? I seem to remember years ago hearing that Apple and Blue tooth were not compatible.
I have an app called Dash Command, but I doubt if I can make it work.

I purchased Carly years ago when it was in Germany and same deal with me. They changed to subscription when I gave my son the BMW and drove an infiniti for a few years...get another BMW and try to activate it and it wouldn't work any more. I've had no problems with bimmertech.

I've had the full Carly license since the early days of BMWhat - they gave me a lifetime license for Carly for BMW just before they went with the yearly subscription, and I've had zero issues with it. I am doing a trial of the "all cars" version, and it works well on my friend's Mercedes, but I'm going to stick with just the BMW-only version. Sorry about the licensing issue you had, OP.
