Go all in on the M235i or upgrade.
I'm at a point with M235i where I have to start going all in to get it to track prep that I want it to which includes new suspension, a LSD, and some reliability engine mods such as a new intercooler and a new oil sump pan. My question is should I do all the upgrades or move into something a bit newer like a M240i or even a M3 which has alot of these upgrades and are to a point more reliable. In the long run I feel like I would come out financially the same. I don't really have experience making a decision like this but any advice would help. I eventually want to get into a P-Car down the road but that would be in a few years.

I was facing a similar dilemma. Results of my considering it was that if you are into modding, the best platform is the OG M2. You get engine oiling mods and stronger internals, LSD, much improved suspension, and ability to run minimum 265/285 rubber. Trying to add this to a 235/240 would cost much more than a good used M2. I decided I don't really have the time or patience, so I went w/ a new M2C (but some nice deals to be had on very low mileage M2c's as well).
