1. 710's are Gunmetal all day long. Silver and Black would've looked silly. Gunmetal is perfect with these dusty brakes.

2. M235i RWD and Xdrive stock height is the same... Although it has not been confirmed if wheel clearances are different. The reason i say this is because the RWD and xDrive have LCA's that are different. I've confirmed from researching camber options for the fronts

3. You need to do the math. Every change to the car results in a change in potential clearances for wheel fitment. Specifically camber, wheel diameter, and width. It also depends very much on how you are driving the car! If the suspension has to travel full extents from track excursions, or if your just doing some daily commuting.

There's a ton of people running F22's w/ 19's on lowered springs. But i highly doubt they are tracking this car. If you look in my pictures there is plenty of space for a 19 and if you size it right there is little difference in overall height / diameter (245/30/19 vs 245/35/19).. The real issue with this car is the offset/backspacing of the wheel to strut/fender. It's an odd fitment, and adding more width is limited before it hits. We try and stuff the wheels in using more negative offset to bring the wheel towards the wheel hub/inside fender, this gives us more room to push the bigger sized tire outside towards the edge of the outside fender lip.

Here is a nice read

I'm probably going to get VMR 710s. Mitch has suggested 18 x 8 1/2 ET 35 for a square setup.

That seems too aggressive, what size tires are you planning to run?

I am going to reuse the stock staggered tires. 225/40/18 front and 245/35/18 rear.

Per Michelin 225/40/18 fit rim widths from 7 1/2 to 9 inches.

OP, are you looking to do any lowering springs or coilovers? I'm anxious to see if you will still won't have rubbing issues.

Paul, I'm thinking of doing the exact setup that you have, except with Michelin PSS tires (and I have a convertible rather than coupe). How would you say the everyday ride and handling compare to the OEM wheels and tires that came on your car? Many thanks for sharing all your learnings.

A 255 PSS is actually as wide as most other 265 tyres. Bear in mind an actual 265 PSS will be wider than OPs set up. Would love to see it work though!

Did you have to roll your rears for that?

In europe they advised me VMR710 8,5j ET43 for front and 9,5J ET50 rear. Now i decided to have the current PSS 225/40/18 (they look stretched) replaced by PS4 235/40/18 (these are not in PSS) unfortunately). To my discovery this combination only fits with a 10mm spacer! Otherwise the tire will hit the shock, even with a 5mm spacer. Any ideas? I really don't want to use spacers...

On my M235i I'm running Apex EC-7 Wheels;
Front: 18x8.5 +45 w/ Michelin 235x40 18
Rear: 18x9.5 +58 w/ Michelin 265x35 18
I run with 3mm spacers all 4 corners.
Only issue on fronts, my front fenders are not rolled and I have experienced rubbing if the wheels turned real hard on uneven surface. I have not experienced rubbing with Michelin 225x40 18 tires on the same rims.
