As one of many who ordered one of the last 135s before they disappeared, it'll definitely be interesting to see the official unveil, though I hope they show an actual production model, and not a "concept" like they did with the 4 coupe that gets toned down, so we know what it will actually look like. Even the M4 coupe unveil had a bunch of BMW Performance parts installed as well.

And as much as I'd rather not be there with that douchebag who found the only payphone left in America, I guess I'll still be there October 25.

Literally came just in time.

I almost had a massive lapse in judgement yesterday and as a result, came close to pulling the trigger on an S4.

I cannot agree.
Even in the narrow spectrum in defining a true driver's car with the way you guys described, BMW has already offered an answer with M135i, which has won widespread and almost unanimous flying colour comments from all car reviews.

This is going to be a awsome car, and it's what BMW need to us enthusiast imo.

Not as an option, but it will likely offer it as an M Performance retrofit part.

The official announcement of the date is what is exciting, not the crappy video.

Man I hope the electric steering is fixed...

I got a loaner 328i today and the handling was complete shit to say the least.

I went to test drive the new boxster/cayman and their handling felt like (well, better than) my 128i even though it is electric as well.

So as of now, I am still M235i>Cayman>CLA45 AMG from my point of view

Its kinda sad isnt it! When I 1st got my F30 I was super excited, but it wore off quickly and my tune changed! I found my self looking at other lines like the S3 and S4 ect...even a cts-V. I hope BMW gets this car right!
I was so so close to pulling the trigger on an f30 335. So glad I didn't and went with the m3.

Nevertheless I'm curious what kind of driving dynamics this car will have though I still can't believe guys are getting excited over a 2 second clip of the car.

I mean I wouldnt be mad at you I think that Audi has come a long way and I really like the s4 and s5 with the v6 3.0. I considered and drove an s4 before I pulled the trigger on my 335i.
But lets wait and see what the m235i has in store for us. THe excitement is building...

Tell me what was your overall impression of the new cayman? I love the new 981c and I was considering this car down the road later on, but only in S form. Do you think it was fast enough, what was the handling like? I need to go drive one and see, Im in love with the new design.

Yeah there is just no substitue for M. I enjoy my 335 for what it is. I had all these plans to mod, but I just slapped on some wheels and a custom exhaust and Im calling it a day because Im definetely not staying with it long term.

Im also seriously considering the S3 sedan when it coms out next year.

Well, outside of the M3/M4 that kinda holds true for me as well...

I've got about a year left on my current lease then I'll see how much I want to spend with a kid still in college

The 2'er could be great, the 4 coupe is on the radar as is Porsche Macan (maybe x4 for me too)...I'd probably really like a 6 coupe - but the prices are astronomical.

I'm always torn between x-over or something more toss-able and less practical since I can't have two vehicles in the garage with my name on em....

This is coming up a bit sooner than I thought. It is unlikely that I will be trading my 135i for it as my ride only has 8k miles on it and has required almost no warranty work since delivery.

The video was a let down, the car, I am certain, will be great. Take everything that is good about the 135i and get rid of the understeer. That will be one killer sports car with a back seat.
