Did pads in September, got a warning my rears needed to be replaced. Weird. I get in there and the sensor wire was worn through. Maybe I didn't tuck it in at all of the points. Anyway, soldered the wire back together but I still get the warning. Will this go away after so many miles? Do I need to unplug and replug the sensor wire at the box?

Update: tried reset procedure several times with and without the wire plugged in and it's still unsuccessful. Wonder if something on the cord gets coded in and the car is looking for a new cord.

AFAIK the pads wear sensor/wire itself has a life expectancy and will throw a code when it's reached it's end point. Same thing happened to me, I went with f&r BBK's and 6 months later the stupid 'replace brakes' comes on and wont let me reset it. This was even after they were not even in use for those 6 months, they were simply tied up and tucked out of the way as my new pads didn't have sensor plugs. As soon as the car hit 60k km that's when it happened, go figure.

I ended up just letting the light stay on and finally changed it when I had a week off of work.

Make sure your parking brake isn't on when you try the reset.

Gave that a try, still no luck. I'm guessing the shielding in the cable may have carried a signal too. New wire will be delivered tomorrow.
