Hello guys, I just pulled the trigger and bought a 2016 M235i RWD from Carvana, my daily driver is a 2014 535i MSport that has been the most reliable BMW that I have ever owned in the last 10 years. I'm in love with the M235i since it's introduction in 2014, in terms of reliability and handling do you think I'll miss my 535i? hope not! Carvana will be delivering the M235i next tuesday and they will be picking up the 535i as well. Wish me luck !

M235i had the same block with stronger forged parts (I believe it was pistons? Someone else can chime in) so it will be at least as reliable as your 535i while being a lot more fun to drive.

Edit: I was wrong:

"Q: What improvements were made to the N55 engine for the M235i application, if any?
A: It's a normal N55 engine, but receives an enforced crankshaft (cast iron was replaced by steel), adjusted software engine mapping, and improved cooling system"

Just received the M235i today and WOWWWWWW ! This is a little E46 M3 in handling and response ! Very glad for the switch ! Now ordering oil change kit, spark plugs and air filter from FCPEURO !

Congrats! I got my ‘14 M235i last summer, also through Carvana. Have really enjoyed the car so far...
