Yet another folding mirrors topic

I have a 2018 M240i convertible (F23). I have been beating my head against this... why can't I code the mirrors to fold when I lock the car?!? I must keep the button pressed for 3 seconds for them to close.

I set the interval in BimmerCode to zero and yet I need to keep the Keyfob button pressed to make it happen. Oh and I also need to be less than 5 feet away from the car.

Can someone kindly help me?

Would one have to use e-sys and not Bimmcode? I am absolutely out of ideas

Thank you!

While this is not really helpful to your situation, I coded the folding mirrors on my 2015 228i 'vert with Bimmercode and have similar results as you with the key fob. While that is kind of annoying, I've adapted to using comfort access on the door handle. As long as you have the fob on you (in a pocket) just place a finger over the ridges on the door handle and hold for 1 second; The car locks, and the mirrors fold.

I am looking for the exact same answer. There must be a specific coding but I cannot figure it out. It must have something to do with convenient closing.

i've got it working on my 2018 m240i convertible. it took me a few tries.

with top down, i have to be careful not to touch door handle too long when locking, or the top starts to go up. can't check values right now but i think time of zero may mean off, tory the shortest non-zero time.

Hey Ron,

We have the same car. Just to confirm if I am understanding this properly: your mirrors fold *instantly* when you press lock on the keyfob?

That's the problem I am trying to solve. I have to keep the lock button held down for a second or two before they fold

No, I have to hold it just past instant, like a half second. If I hold it too long, the top starts to go up. I think there is a timing field for that in Bimmercode also. But I've not been out digging around in the car to get you the details.

If I dont want to buy the Bimmercode stuff and learn the coding can the dealer easily program the mirrors to fold? What about a good third party, non dealer shop?
