God those look amazing. Did you have to do anything to the suspension to run that setup?

I would love some 8.5/9.5 804s but VMR only makes 8 wide 804s in a 18, so I’m really debating just going up to 19” but I am not sure how the ride quality will be compared to OEM.

Definitely go with the setup I have, no real ride difference. And I'm only on h&r springs.

Factory tires?

Hello! I'm new to the community. I don't even have my car yet. I am in the process of getting an '18 m240. Mineral Gray with Oyster interior. I'm currently waiting on delivery. In the mean time, a buddy of mine had a 2 and just got a Tesla and he is gifting me a set of VMR 710 18x8.5 +35 front and 18x9.5 +45 rear. One of the wheels has some curb rash which I'll get fixed, but other than that, they are good to go.

The tires on my car are brand spankin new. The dealer put them on for the CPO. I don't know what tires they are because I haven't seen the car in person.. I know they are 18 and factory size. I blew up the picture enough to see the sizes but not the brand. I'd kind of like to use the tires up before I got new ones.

Can I run the factory tires on the VMR wheels or do I need to get 255's for the rear? I believe the 225 fronts will fit but not sure about the rears.

Also, I'm thinking about doing the Dinan Springs and bumpstops. I'm assuming I won't rub?

I'm no tire expert so idk what size to tell you to get, but I'm 95% sure the 9.5" rear rim width will not work with a 225 tire.

As for the Dinan springs and bump stops, I have both and have 19" VMRs and no issues. I imagine the same would hold true for 18". Good luck with the new car!

Thanks. I was talking about the 225 on an 8.5" front. That should work? I just looked on the interwerbs and it shows that a 225 on an 8.5 is minimum and a 245 on a 9.5 is minimum. I was wondering more about your experiences.

Thanks on the new car. I'm coming out of a '19 Corvette Grandsport so this should be fun getting back into a small car again.

There may be other factors in play, but that's the set up that I have on my fronts. If I was doing it again, I would go a little wider on the front tires as there is a pretty good "poke".

Before getting into it...HogFan = RazorbackFan?

Yes, you can. From the Tire Rack, below are the Rim Width Ranges for the OEM 225/40 and 245/35 tires. More here: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec....Pilot+Sport+4S.

When in doubt, it's frequently useful to check the Rack's specifications data when there are questions like you've posed here.

Awesome, thank you! Then I’m going to run the OEM tires until they wear out. My only cost in this will be fixing the curb rash on one of the wheels.

Yes, I’m a suffering life long Razorback fan. It’s always next year, it’ll be ok, next game. It’ll be ok, we had injuries or something else. LOL. But we do love our Hogs down here. Woo Pig Soooie!

Just got my m240. My buddy is giving me his VMR 710 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 wheels and I have a set of Bridgestone 255/35 and 225/40 that I took off of my ATS about 4 years ago. Will these fit on my car? I’m planning on lowering with dinan springs as well. I hope the tires are still ok. I had a look at them and they “look” ok but I never know how good old tires that have been stored would work. They have been in an non climate controlled shed stacked on their sides.

The wheel widths are within the rim width range for both front and rear tires, so you should be good to go. I'd look the tires over to see if there are any cracks. Have you looked at the date codes to see when they were manufactured?

Offset is the measurement of the wheel lugs compared to the face and rear of rim. Too low offset and the same size rim with same tire will hit the fender. Same size rim and tire with much higher offset will hit the suspension.

So what offset are the two sets rims you're getting?

I know the width will work, but was curious about the 35 aspect ratio on the rears.

The wheels are 18x8.5 +35 front, 18x9.5 +45 rear

I was thinking that the rears need to be 255/30/18. I need to check the manufacturing date on the tires.

Cadillac ATS wheels have a 5x115 bolt pattern with 70.3 hubcentric bore, so won't work on an F22 unless the wheels are dual drilled with 10 mounting holes for both a 5x115 and 5x120 fitment and have a centrebore larger than 72.6mm to allow use of a hubcentric ring to fit the F22.

That's not what I'm asking. I have VMR 710 wheels. The tires came off of my ATS. I'm pretty versed in wheel terminology, offsets, and bolt diameters. My question is whether the tires I mentioned above will work or not. I'm more concerned about the height of a 255/35/18 vs. a 255/30/18. According to online calculators, there's about an inch difference in height.

Assuming a RWD car when you list it as an M240i (if an xi, then tyre diameter differences from stock could be more problematic), the 255/35-18 is much closer to the stock diameter of the 245/35-18 (636mm vs 629mm) versus the 610mm of a 255/30-18. I run a 225/45-18 winter tyres all around on my M240i at 660mm diameter, with no rubbing.

The diameter shouldn’t be a problem, the 7mm lower offset of the wheels compared with stock combined with the tyre sidewall being 5mm further out (not including increased sidewall bulge due to the wider wheel) will provide a slight risk of contact with the fender depending on tyre tread width.

Thanks. It's not an xi. I'm only rear drive. I figured I'd have no problems if not lowered but with the plans to lower, that's where I thought I might run into issues.

The front to rear diameter matters for AWD since you have a center diff that needs wheel speed to be fairly balanced. Since you are RWD, it wont matter if its off.

I just got 710s in matt black. When I ordered them I was thinking of breaking up the black with something (too much black for me). The center cap is great because the blue in it matches my car, but its still a lot of black.

Took it to a wheel shop and they want $150+ each to two tone powder coat them (face one color, depth another color, etc). Thats too much for my wallet. I asked if they could machine the lip and clear over it to give me a nice metal ring around the lip, but they said the lip was too rounded to for their machine to grind.

Since the wheels are painted matt black, I'm wondering if I can find a place to only plastidip the depth part of the rim blue. I've read its possible but plastidip is better doing an entire surface and not leaving edges where the peeling can start. So now I'm wondering if I can just get the inner parts painted blue or machined. I'll probably give up and keep them black lol, too much trouble.

Since my oem lugnuts look like shit, I might try putting blue ones one to match the car and break up the black, but that may look too ricey for me.

Any suggestions?
