Apple CarPlay Won't Open in M240

I'm having an issue with my Apple CarPlay not opening when I click on the icon to open up the interface, even though it is actively running/playing music from Spotify through CarPlay. Video link here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wkglmpm5cv...%20AM.mov?dl=0

Anyone else having this issue? Any tips to fix it? Thanks!

Put it on Eco Mode or Sport Plus and then back to Comfort Mode. Weird way to "refresh" the screen. That's the downside of Bluetooth CarPlay, wish it would just sync up via lightning cable instead.

Edit - You can also push the Media button and scroll over to apple car play on the left without having to switch driving modes.

Toggling between the drive modes is defintely the best quick and dirty way.

However, if it gets flakky in general and you're already on the road, push and hold the volume button down for a good 10-15 seconds to perform a hard shut down. Wait a few seconds and give in another shot.

This happened to my 2021 M240i about a week ago. I tried holding down the volume button method and it did not work. In my case, the ACP option did not even show up on the menu.
I ended up calling BMW and what worked was to unpair my phone from the car and then re-pair my phone again. That did the trick. BMW said it does that once in a while. I think it is a software issue. Hopefully BMW will come out with a patch for it later.

I've been having this issue more frequently over the past month. I usually just toggle airplane mode to refresh it.
