Dumb question

It seems like when I test drove a 2021 230i, it had an illuminated ring around the speedometer and tach that my 2017 didn't have.

I'm sort of a purist and liked the way it was before - any way to turn that off on my soon-to-be-new car?

Is this what you saw? If so it was a chrome trim ring on each gage.

It was a quick test drive and light might have just been hitting it funny. My 2017 has the same chrome surround but for some reason I thought it was illuminated with a ring of light on the newer model. If not, thanks for setting me straight.
