Digital Key on F22/23?
Does anyone know if new build F22/23 are getting BMW digital key? The press release lists 'The 2' as one of the compatible models, but somehow I don't trust this and I suspect it might require idrive 7.
I have a convertible scheduled for build this winter and it sounds like a pretty cool feature... not getting my hopes up though. https://www.bmw.com/en/innovation/bm...w-car-key.html |

I ordered my M240i convertible in August and the dealer told me it would. Car is still in the "scheduled for production" stage; so check back in December and I may be able to tell you.

I have no special insight, and it's possible that you're right, but the plain reading of the website seems to pretty matter-of-factly indicate that "all" those models built after summer 2020 would have the digital key feature. Now, of course, the 2-series is due for a generation change a year from now, but if they were implementing this new feature with each new generation, I doubt that the list of compatible vehicles would be as long as it is. As things stand, the list features a number of models that aren't due for a new generation anytime soon.

The definitive answer is no. The F23 doesn't have this feature. On the bmw connected website there is some small type that says only the grand coupe.

It would be odd to offer a complex feature this in the last year of a model. The GC makes sense, since that is a new model.
I would bet on the 22, though. |
