Dinan Stage1 Tuner v Dinantronics Elite V2/
Two weeks ago I called the local Dinan installer to ask about the Dinan Stage 1Tuner for my M240. I called back yesterday to schedule and that product was no longer available but instead was replaced with the Elite V2. I’m not a big car guy but I noticed the significantly lower power numbers with the new product and was a bit disappointed. Called Dinan and they said it was essentially a new version of the Stage1 Tuner, with newer calibration. When I pointed out lower power numbers they said yes but torque is delivered earlier and power delivery smoother. But as I look at power charts I’m getting even more skeptical; don’t see any of that. Just less power. Also noted the Elite V2 spec’d for both 3 series and 240 whereas Stage 1 Tuner was just for 240. Scheduled the install of the Elite V2 for Monday of next week but I’m now reconsidering. Thoughts? Insights into what’s going on? Thanks!

I had posted in another thread earlier today where I spoke to them and was told the same thing.
Personally I feel like V2 is the same thing as their sport tune but comes with a warranty. Now depending on how important a factory matching warranty is to you it may be better to just get a JB4 tune. The JB4 tune will give you more power than the Dinan will. https://jb4store.com/collections/bmw...8-b58-jb4-beta |

Dinan has finally settled down in its new home in 'Bama. It appears they are making a concerted effort to improve on existing products and develop new ones for the new model BMWs. The V2 produces much better results on my 230i than V1. Throttle response and low end power/torque are noticeably better. I haven't dyno'd the car or seen how it performs at top end, but its running quicker and smoother than before.

I had an Elite Stage 1 Tuner for just over one year. The new V2 so far is performing superior to the old. The 230 version was produced after the introduction of the M240 version.

I have been running the V2 for almost two weeks and have been very pleased. At lower rpms it does appear a bit more aggressive than V1 (quicker downshift and greater torque) but I am getting used to it. No more CELs or power-train errors!

Thanks for feedback. Notice any appreciable power loss with v2?

Fortunately for me, I have a 230i and v2 shows appreciable gains over V1. I have noticed on other posts that the same is not true for x40i models. However, the V2 for them is smoother, more linear in achieving top HP and torque, and most importantly, no CELs. Check out the specs on the Dinan website.
