Garage List
If you're talking the little display that suggests what gear you should be for best fuel economy just keep that sucker in sport or sport plus mode. I assume you're talking manual trans ?

Gearshift indicator shows up right next to the mode indicator so mines showing sport or + with the gearshift advise! Next to it, yer manual transmission. Seem to remember first Genius on handing over the car disabled it, but now they say it's not possible?

I'm pretty sure there is an i-drive setting to disable it.

If it turns out that you can't disable it, maybe you could simply stick some neat little pieces of black tape over the arrows.

Thanks for the reply! That's where I thought logically it would be, spoke with the original genius this morning and he "thought" that too but wasn't 100% it was or could of been disabled. Maybe it's a Uk/Euro thing but no option to deselect gearshift indicator anywhere on the I-drive menus guess I can live with it, does change its mapping as far as I can tell depending which mode is selected , but would rather it was gone!

You could always make it go away with coding.

The word "Cluster" in Instrument Cluster really bothers me. : D

I don't get the Instrument Cluster option at all - the Control Display is my top menu item.

But I didn't pay extra for the "Instrument Cluster with Extended Contents" option. (In Australia it's only available packeged with the H-K stereo, DAB tuner, 8-inch navigation and mobile services - none of which I wanted.)

So maybe it's the Extended Contents that lets you turn them off?

They're REALLY annoying! I chose the auto and use it as a paddle-shift manual, and I want to see what gear I'm in, not an alternative suggestion. (And the engine would be struggling with some of the suggestions anyway.)

Technicians said to try that scroll through the BC options on the stalk till the blank screen and hold for 3 seconds that activates / deactivates the option .
Seems not on the latest cars
