So i decided to bite the bullet and try out Aliexpress for the first time. I found some carbon fiber mirror caps with the m styling. They seemed way too cheap to be a real or quality product. Against my better judgment I decided to buy them anyways.

I retrieved and installed them yesterday. All I can say is that I am incredibly impressed with the quality and fitment. These caps are plastic with a real carbon fiber skinning. Which in my opinion is better. Most carbon products I have used before have a hard time replicating tabs and fitment can be loose.
These however have oem fitment with carbon fiber.

I will say that they were not 100% perfect.it looks like there are some very very light surface scratches in the clear coat. I think this will buff out by hand with polish.... maybe even hidden by a quick detailer.

Anyways I paid $90 with shipping. I will probably bring them to a paint shop and have them coated with a uv stable clear coat to ensure longevity.

If link doesn't work go to Ali express and type in 2 series mirror and it should come up. I believe the seller I got was Drs tunning or something similar.

Just beware most of the inexpensive carbon fiber pieces do not use the more expensive UV resistant resin (check out this link) and or do not have a UV resistant top coat like a UV urethane. Without these, the appearance will eventually degrade no matter how often you wax it.

Agreed. I was actually planning on bringing them to a shop to get them clear coated with a UV stable top coat.

$90 plus top coat cost is still a great value compared to all other options.

honestly I have no idea but I will tell you the fitment and quality of these mirror caps are crazy considering the price. Even my other car enthusiast buddy was impressed with the quality.

I would be a little bit more hesitant if it was cf only. If it were wrapped id feel more comfortable about fitment.

my mirror caps seemed like they were oem caps wrapped in cf.

Yeah like I said I was surprised. I already have carbon interior otherwise I'd probably try the one from this seller. Just beware shipping takes a long time and the seller speaks pretty broken English and will send the same message multiple times. I thought for sure I was being scammed and opened a dispute. About a week later teaching updated and said it was in the States and would be delivered in 5 days so I cancelled ty he dispute. Overall it's a long wait but very pleased with price and product.

I actually got a response from Alibaba today, they said they can have the whole kit shipped for $140 )) I didnt even mean to send any price requests....

How did your kit attach? I am afraid their kits only use 3M tape

My kit is the OEM one. It snapped in place with plastic and metal tabs. Sounds like AliExpress one is an overlay
