Absolutely correct. I think that Toyota is the only truck company that doesn't have a EV truck but I'll bet they could have one in a month if they wanted to. I'm sure the "no ice cars in 2030" doesn't poll well but we seem to be a country of people that only react after they get smacked in the face. Most sheeple will not figure out what is being done to them until it is done to them. I'm sure some states like California, Washington and Michigan will die on their own EV sword even when their constituents don't want expensive EV's. Any automotive manufacturer must balance complying with government mandates against making a profit. Then again if the Government drives them to bankruptcy the government will just force tax payers to bail them out again.

After watching 2 hours of one POV (hagerty, carwow, top gear etc) I'm glad i did spend 17 minutes on this video. I found it very informative. It was specific to the vehicle too.
Post a video with an "alternative POV" that's as engaging as the other 2 hours and I'll be happy to watch it. Some angry duuude saying duuude every 2 minutes and ranting about the same couple points every EV hater goes on and on about (including here) no thanks.

The other videos showed some engineering stuff I was unaware of and found interesting. Even though I have no desire to own a cybertruck I found the videos entertaining. Duuude on the other hand provided no new information and had 0 entertainment value... unless you consider those talking heads on TV that just talk shit to rile people up entertainment.

what you find engaging might not be what others find engaging.
The other videos didn't off road or do pick up truck stuff and did a lot of drag and track racing.
Ah well..ev hater label then.

Come on guys, Do you really think any of these EV trucks are designed to do truck stuff? Growing up on a farm my idea of "Truck Stuff" is most likely pretty different than what most EV truck drivers think is "Truck Stuff". If your idea of "Truck Stuff" is picking up a Christmas Tree then Elton has the vehicle for you

Mark my words: You’ll come to regret it when AI decides you’re driving style is causing extraneous climate issues and 10MPH is all you’re getting today.

Trying to power a car/truck with a giant battery is not the correct use of the EV drivetrain; it's stupid actually. Oh wow, over an hour. Cool.

I could make equal arguments about how CAFE regulations are so ridiculous that they completely overlook large trucks with a certain sized footprint and over a certain GVWR in order to keep those cash cows rolling in for the manufacturer. You don't think there are complete shenanigans in ICE governmental regulation too? Way, WAY more than in EV.

Oh we're summoning AI into the conversation now. Damn! No doubt I'm sure when our AI overlords turn us into batteries for their AI EVs I'll think back to this thread and say daaaaamn that guy on that BMW forum was totally right!

For a work-trucks that resides in a city, goes to a few or one work-site a day, maybe even tows a trailer, EV trucks make lot of sense. If it goes back to a yard where it can be charged overnight and it's not going on crazy long rural trips where it's driving constantly, it'll work great. There's a giant market for that. Even a lot of the regular work trucks and vehicles don't work for a lot of rural areas, so obviously it won't cover 100%, but again, it's a giant market that an EV work truck can definitely take advantage of.

Not the same as a "tow my boat 200 miles"-truck.

A truck.

With a frame made out of 1/8" stainless steel.

History is doomed to repeat itself, eh?

There's a reason why we stopped making steel frame vehicles in the 30s. I can't fathom why any sane individual would think a stainless steel fridge is even remotely safe to drive, regardless of ICE or EV powertrain. The thing sounds like and supposedly is an absolute death trap. Unless crumple zones are for chumps or something.

I can see it now: who needs a crumple zone when you have autonomous driving preventing crashes? *yawn*

You don’t sound like a car guy - because car guys I know aren’t into trucks, and definitely are informed enough not to be into 7000lbs warmed over refrigerator with an IPad with a dash.

But hey, different strokes.

On another subject - it’s so wild to me how well marketing (which is all these Cyber truck videos and car channels are for now) works. For a company that doesn’t have a media arm, it’s amazing how much Tesla stays in the news cycle despite selling less than 1% of the cars world wide - WITH over $15k+ in free money.

So now I'm a truck guy just because I own a truck? I guess I'm a microwave guy also and a shoe guy.

But hey you know people who know people so it must be true.
