Is this normal : With the A/C button not on and with the green light off , my A/C runs and cools air for about the first 5/10min in the car and then cycles to run but not cooling. I have the temp settings a 60deg and outside temp are 90+. Seems strange. I can then turn on the A/C but pushing the A/C button which turns green.

The car might turn the A/C on automatically to prevent condensation and other things depending on some sensors... if you look on the manual it explains it...

usually happen in winter to prevent the windows from fogging... not sure what condition would make it turn on in summer though....

i have noticed this as well. I drive with the windows down and A/C kicks on sometimes when i start the car with light off. I can also hear it. I wondered the same thing.

A/C also runs with its indicator off for a few minutes on my car.
I thought I read on some other cars it was for lubrication of the system - can't recall if it happens in winter?
