"Your vehicle was released to a carrier and is awaiting transportation to a port of exit" - this morning.
They changed their system, folks. Probably got sick of people like is getting OCD about every step of the way. Or "why hasn't my car entered production yet?" So now it's basically in production from the moment a date is assigned. I had no updates between 150 and today.

At any rate that is very exciting news!!! My estimated completion is in 2 days.. ahhhh! I called BMW Genius and finally spoke to someone who readily admitted that "he has fielded an unusual number of calls this week with people stuck at 150 for a longer period then usual and they are stem from the mid-April production started date" and he is going to look into it.

How's this for frustration?
Hey Guys, don't rely too much on ANY of the information that you're being given. My 228i was ordered on March 4, and built on March 18. It traveled to the West coast aboard the Lyra Leader, which docked at Port Hueneme (California) at dawn on April 29th. That was 8 full days ago, and I can't get any information from either my CA or a "Resolution Specialist" on the 800 line about why it appears to still be stuck at the port. My dealer is a 90 minute drive from the VPC in Oxnard. One of the cars on the same boat was delivered last Saturday to a local dealer, and another is scheduled to be delivered today in Seattle!!!!
The moral of the story is that the process is fraught with uncertainty.

Mine was scheduled for daily production pack on the same day as yours. Our cars might be brothers.

i ordered mid march and was told they wouldn't get another allocation until april, which is when i got my production number. if they didn't have an allocation, i don't think i would have a production number at all.

I placed an order end of Feb, beginning of March. I got a production number about 3-4 days after placing the order. My confirmed production date was 5/20/14. I posted that and a member said that it means week 20 which stars on May 12th. I called today and it's already in production with completion date of May 12th so maybe it started early. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that we changed the pick up and pushed it up 4 days earlier (which is about a week).

Thank you. I guess since I place my order on 5/2 I won't be hearing anything new until July. That is horrible, two months of uncertainty. The BMW automated phone service says that my order has being accepted.

It has nothing with when you placed the order but if your dealer has an allocation to build the car or if you are just in a list waiting for an allocation...
Did you ask if they assigned an allocation to your order and what month the allocation is? |

ok so you have an allocation... do you know for which month? if not call the dealer and ask
They know exactly the month of the allocation... so at least you know approximately when the car is going to be produced... you might want to ask for a production week also |

They should have sent you a form with your car spec'ed out the way you wanted along with your production number and a production date. My CA first told me that I won't have it until April or May but I pressed him on it and he got one for me a few days after. I just told him I would feel better with a production number. That way I can plan my trip and not have to worry about it. So I think you should perhaps ask your CA for that build out sheet.

I received the spec sheet from him that list everything including the production number. The only thing that is not populated on the sheet is the "Production Date". I already ask my CA for this information, hopefully I'll have a better idea by tomorrow.

well even if they don't know the exact prod date, they should the allocation month....
else they won't tell you anything and make you wait... for example you could have gotten an August allocation so your car won't be in the US till end September at best... That's why before putting any down or anything I think people should request to know what month allocation they are getting |
