Spoon feeding only the information I can at this time. A review is ongoing at this time with an answer shortly. Not trying to mysterious here, but just can't release information until I have it ready to go. Patience please!
I thought the AFR numbers were very interesting. Look at the changes between the tunes and factory settings. Does anyone here know about fuel tuning see a problem here? I do!! |

Delnari, are they reviewing the output numbers or other aspects of the dyno, like the AFR, or both?

It looks like it's running a little bit leaner than stock past 5700 RPM whereas the BMS is quite a bit leaner from 5300+.

OP is getting a lot of PR here for free. Not even Starbucks can compete! Steve would have posted if there was real issues to address. Stop giving free PR.

Didn't the OP install the tune himself? I thought in order for the warranty to be effective, an authorized dealer must do the install. Maybe car went kaboom on dyno?

Is that all it is.. a little AFR hiccup (in a non-critical area...) that threw off the results a bit????

Just for comparisons sake the N55 Stage1 tune requests 3psi more than stock across the board. I would hope the Dinan with its extra control is pushing a lot more than that? The JB4 can run as much as 10psi over stock with the aggressive maps. The JB4 also has F30 EWG AFR control in testing now. Mike |

Seems to correlate, unless it's just a coincidence? The 0 second mark is ~2,000 RPM and every second after goes up 500 RPMS.

Okay, finally able to talk the my Dyno adventure from last week. First off, let me say I have respect for everyone who works at making a living in the auto aftermarket industry including tuners. It's a tough life that doesn't pay nearly as much as it deserves!
The tuner I use for my first dyno is the same one I used for my dyno with Dinan. Figure we would get apples to apples measurements. As mention already, the car was ran in the incorrect gear on the first past (6th instead of 5th). Second, the cabling connected to the car was not secured enough to measure true torque reading as it had intermitted signals. Add that to fact the Dynojet used (4-wheel drive version) was getting wheel slip during every pull; including my first baseline pulls which I didn't learn about until after this second go round. Bottom line, the Dyno numbers on the final 4th pull came back underrated! The wait was for Dinan to get the entire unit back and run diagnostics to verify everything was working as it should be. Some finger pointer was going on from the shop and needed to get both parties a good say before posting any real numbers. So, my numbers are: 314 HP and 343 TQ (First post updated with Chart) Not very good considering stonger numbers from the BMS N55 Stage 1 unit. Just finished speaking with Dan in Dinan Engineering and he said the real Dynojet number should have been 315 HP and 370 TQ for the Stage 1 kit. He did go on to say that the Stage 2 will be a bump to about 335 HP and nearly 400 TQ once it gets released. They are waiting on the Dinan Intake to go live for production before it is released. Would like to see another M235i with Dyno run on a Dynojet come back and report their numbers to see if they match up to what is expected. I waited for both my tuner and Dinan to respond before I posted any numbers so it didn't appear I was taking sides against the other. Again, nothing but respect for those who work in this industry. I have been issued a full refund from Dinan and deciding my next move for a tune. Leaning towards a 200 cell catted downpipe to put on now while I ponder the JB4 setup. I've been quietly following this since I am brand-new to any of this. From what I've read the average drivetrain loss is 15% give or take. That puts the motor numbers at 361 and 395 or thereabouts. Would that be correct?

I think the M235i is more around 9% realistic powertrain loss. Dinan confirmed that their stock M235i is 296-297 rear-wheel HP with me earlier today.
