I went back today - just for fun - and they still don't have a record of it. My other car (the 330e) is already on a train from Halifax to Toronto - so I'm more than familiar with the tracking process. That still shows up the database, even though it was offloaded 10 days ago - so there's no chance I missed it while it crossed the ocean (unless it was on a Concorde, of course... ) But they don't fly those things anymore. Already sold some of the little "upgrade" parts I got the 240. Still have some left. That's why I keep coming back once-in-awhile. Besides - I'm curious how this whole thing turns out. On a side note - no offence to the few potential Peugeot owners on this board - but comparing any modern day Peugeot even to a 2 series - is just not fair. They have different standards, and maybe different patents at play. I'm quickly getting my flame retardant suit on, waiting for the Peugeot owners Peace.

For those considering a 2018, I confirmed with a different dealer that PRODUCTION on 2018 convertibles starts 7/17. So odds are at least some of us will be seeing our 2017s at the same time 2018s are arriving. I think that pretty much ends any willingness I have to take the existing 2017.
Also, I was told that during April, there was a $2000 conquest rebate to the dealer. Not sure where it is but another poster mentioned getting $2000 in consideration from their dealer for the delay - I suspect that's what that is. I have to check if my dealer will extend that. I'm increasingly unhappy with them. Endaar

Conquest rebate.. That's probably to the dealer.. and they can pass some or all of it to the customer.. I wonder what the stipulations are.. Do they only allow it is the customer owns a Benz or Lexus... maybe only against other German brands? Anyone know?

I have a Lexus and if the second dealer is to be believed, that would have qualified me.

OK, so with the LCI info out, who's waiting on their 2017 (with zero info as to ETA) versus ordering an '18? Leaning towards the latter here.

I think the bigger issue at this point is do you like the '18 better than the '17? Me... I like that the LCI headlights are LED, but I think the '17 HIDs look way better. I like the '18 tail light better and I like how the '18 NAV adds touch screen. If they didn't change the look of the LCI headlight, but just made them LED, I'd want the '18, but I really dislike the new headlight styling. Maybe it's just a matter of having the dealer order an '18 to spec and when the '17 comes in ... assuming it's to your liking, make the decision then... The closer to the arrival of the '18s, I have a feeling BMW will start adding incentives to the '17.

That is actually what I'm doing. Dealer is giving me their first '18 built-to-spec, and I can make the call when I'm ready. Probably will depend on when the '17 shows up; early June and I'll likely take it and enjoy the summer. If it pushes much later than that I will wait for the '18. Already had to extend my current lease (and replace the brakes, ugh) so I have some leeway.

So, crabu2, did you end up taking delivery of the 2017? I have appreciated you documenting your experience as I am a few weeks behind you in ordering a similar car.

Hey, crabu2! Sounds like you picked up your convertible this week. How was the experience and what do you think of it so far? Looks like mine is still a couple of weeks away.

I can tell you the car gets great MPG. I'm getting anywhere from 28 to 31 MPG per tank, but I do mostly highway driving. I'm guessing, but I expect I'll be past the 1200 miles in the next week. I'll get a better feel for the car once I get past break in.

Well in the continuing saga of BMW having zero clue what's going on, my car (that had been stuck at the port since early April) showed up at the dealer Friday. Which is good news though a bit puzzling considering they said repairs wouldn't start until June. I have seen the car with my own two eyes though, so I'm not complaining.
Have to sort out delivery still, but aiming to pick up later this week. Assuming all goes well the delay cost me nearly $1300. At least the dealer ate about $900 of that. Lousy situation. Endaar

Ever get the impression something just isn't meant to be? Yeah, that's about where I'm at with this car.
After it sat for two months at the port, I made it a point to inspect the car before even scheduling a delivery date. Checked it out early yesterday morning and it was fine. Went to pick it up tonight, and the guy bringing the car out from the service area clipped a curb and damaged a wheel. And of course since the dark wheels are more popular now, they don't have a wheel they can pull off another car and have to order one. FWIW I refused delivery and have yet to sign anything. I was not taking the car home with any damage. Waited this long - I'm just hoping the wheel is available locally and doesn't have to come from Europe.
