I just got an update from PCD that my car isn't supposed to arrive to the US until 1/21/21 and so they can't make my 2/5 delivery work. Guess she'll be waiting at Bremer for another couple of weeks. At least they gave me the name of the vessel - Horizon Highway.

Reviving a somewhat recent thread - I've got an F23 M240i on the way and its been in "awaiting carrier assignment" for 10 days now, which seems to be unusually long time in that status. Any ideas on how to find out what's going on and get an update? I feel like the goal post keeps moving on delivery of my new cab.

Here was my timeline. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of how long it was in "awaiting assignment" status. It was at least 5 days. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27038603 It will get here eventually. |

It was cool reading through this thread. Even though I hate the idea of buying brand new cars, I'd love to option out and order a new BMW. The anticipation would drive me nuts however!

Yeah after 40 years of buying used cars that is just what I did last August and was on pins and needles until I took delivery in November. But it was worth it.

I was at port for about a week. Once the BMW garage shows it as transit, if you call the genius line they will tell you what ship and your can get a date from your service advisor the same date.

I keep cars for a long time (still daily my 09 e90 also ordered new) and the idea of spending 40-60k on a used car drove me nuts. The F23 will replace my 01 911 cabriolet that I owned for 2 years until the M96 engine failed. Couldn't bring myself to replace it with another used car (911 C4 Turbo cab) that someone else got to decide what options to have on it so I bought new. 2021 might be the end of RWD convertibles with 3 pedals.
