so there is no 228i?? that doesn't make sense to me - i'm sure a lot of people would love to have the higher output n20 in this smaller package.....

Side view looks good but without the headlights connecting to the grill I think it already looks a little dated.

The 2 Series looks very attractive in the color Moonlight Silver Silver, to me personally
I really like. Former Cashmere Silver also was tasteful. My God is crazy so many options there is so much to choose from. ! Estoril Blue, Deep Sea Blue , Melbourne Red, Valencia Orange, wow!!! |

I'm guessing leasing the 220i would be in the range of $289 or $299 ... That would make a nice commuter car

I like it - all of BMWs new / upcoming releases I find totally 'meh', apart from this and the i-cars. Dimensions and weights look good, and I'm stoked that the headlights don't join the grille, because that looks like ass. I'm probably one of about a dozen people worldwide who would prefer to order a 235i with no ///M's on it...
Will I buy it? Probably not. Holding out for the 2GC. Am literally praying for 4 frameless doors and a 235iGC without ///Marketing tinsel. I'd take the Sport seats, suspension and the slip-diff. Please BMW...make it so. Or almost so! |

Quite nice.
No bimmerang on this one, wonder what the criteria is, size of side panel? I thought it was a new aero feature coming across the range. 3GT, X5, 4 (I've probably missed some recent releases out that don't have it 5LCI eg). Chris

Also, remember this is a 2 series. It would not make logical sense that the 2 series has extra features that the 3 series does not, since the cars are "suppose" to get better as you travel up the product line. For this reason, since the F30 3er does not get bimmerang, or LED headlights, I would not expect them on the 2er, even if it is coming out after it. (which is a shame since I want LED headlights!)

Not that there's a problem or anything....so BMW is releasing a new 2 Series which is not consistent with their new GEN designs (headlights and grill integration)?

and isn't this car aiming at eating up their 1 series market????
what sets these two apart from a consumer standpoint? Don't we have a 1 series coupe with "almost" same size and look? |

Yep. And no air breather vents on side fenders.

Not to say that they might not also do a 220i as an uber-entry-level model maybe to compete head-on with the cheapo models from Audi and M-Benz. |
