That ///M on the grille is ridiculous. Far too big and in your face.
Burnt tips though look good.

I'm pretty happy with the burnt tips, but you can't polish the corrosion out, or the finish comes off. Lesson learned on a small spot. |

I got clarification from the installer, here is what was installed: http://northamerica.llumar.com/autom...le-window-tint The max legal tint in my area was 15% so that is what I have in all windows, with the special UV blocking film for the windshield that has a very slight tint 90%

Thought the engine compartment looked a little bland, but, taking off the plastic engine cover looked worse. So, bought a spare cover and oil fill cap, shaved off the raised letters and lines, painted it body color, and re-did the M Performance, and BMW lettering in flat vinyl letters. Color is a little off from the body, but it's out of sight 99% of the time, and, the under hood color is not quite the same as the outside either. Second picture is the AC control trim panel wrapped in CF vinyl, to match the rest of the CF trim in the interior. The AC trim panel was the only gloss black piece in the interior, and it looked out of place.

Thought it would be fun to change over to winter tyres, then find out the front right was leaking badly from the TPMS so put the standard fronts back on.
Looks like the TPMS was overtightened when installed. Now I just get to wait to call TireRack tomorrow as they came mounted and balanced. |

When I pull it out for '18, I'll do the spark plugs, fresh oil change, fill up on 94oct, etc. To me, it all depends on the condition of the storage facility, if it were in a long term, "lights out" storage environment, I'd probably put it on jack stands and do a full chassis detail, like I did last year. I'd also go nuts on the fabric softener sheets to keep the mice, out. This year will also be cut short in the showroom as they'll be doing all of my chassis bushings and suspension work in their down time, Feb-March ..

I'm sure there are more preventative things to be done, but being such a new car, I doubt it'll return the investment.. I recall a friend who would drain his oil pan, winterize the fuel, drain coolant and everything on his older VAG cars. And fill with new oil, coolant, etc. upon first start in the new year. To me, that's just overkill

When I was storing at the local storage place, no heat etc, based on my son's advice (he's a master auto tech): full tank, Stabil, pumped up tires.
Biggest issue in summer when I had the Juke stored was brake rust. The BMW got a little bit but it would skim right off. In the end, I hated storing it so I dumped both cars and got the current M24oi xDrive convertible. Something for every season. |

My car has been neglected for the last few months due to my health issues. So today I decided to take her out for a two hour drive out east and back.We had lunch haha and came back..Opened it up on the open road.. The power was amazing and I fell in love with my car all over again...

Today I had a brand new set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studded winter tires installed. The ultimate tires for our Canadian winters. They are less noisy than I expected, but I must say that the ASD helps a lot. The lesser of two evils I suppose...

My new M240i got off the boat today, so... I ordered an assortment of RejeX products to detail it upon arrival. (Already have clay bar and other supplies.) And, I took my now-former Mazda3 for a one-way ride to CarMax. My third excellent CarMax experience.

I just stored my 235 for the winter yesterday (3rd winter in storage). My process is:
My biggest worry is the mice. One got in the engine bay the first year of storage. I noticed it within a week of storing the car, so I added the dryer sheets and traps. No apparent damage other than a few droppings on the engine cover and no more signs of mice that year, but I did catch three last year in the trap next to the tire and caught one in the engine bay trap. I store mine from late November/early December to the end of March. It's a long and sad 4 months.

Dealer Fee's
Yanked off the dealer provided license plate frame and white lettering since my request to the dealer for a small monthly advertising fee for having the dealership name 2 times on the back of my BMW was ignored.

Ouch. I told the dealer where I got my car, that if when it was delivered to me it had any stickers on it I would refuse delivery and send it back to them at their cost. No stickers

There are many other brands out there, but some have crazy pricing...these seemed more reasonable.
