I hope BMW would make a 2-series sedan.

Do they even have plans on making a 2-series sedan? If so, I would love an M235i sedan to be my next car!

The new Audi A3 sedan will now have a new competitor...

Directly quoted from SCOTT26 a few posts back:

Quote:
If we add a few inches on to the wheelbase and roof panel and then add rear doors we get the perfect impression of the forthcoming Gran Coupe.
The slight stretch allows the more rounded roofline to be retained giving it a dynamic coupe-like roofline and stretched glasshouse.

The M Performance accessories mimic those introduced on the 4er .
The full programme will be announced for the Geneva Autoshow in Early March 2014..

The belief in the Gran Coupe is ever more apparent due to the lukewarm response the media have given the CLA and A3 Sedan. BMW believes the segment calls for sheer driving pleasure .
So yes, a 2 series Gran Coupe is on the cards

My local dealer just posted on Facebook saying the 2 series will have optional all-wheel drive. Has been previously announced?

Liking this! Interested in how it compares (driving wise) to the 1 series.

The 2 series looks great. A major improvement from the outgoing e82.

The main thing that makes it look better is the lines down the side of the car. The e82 looks "sucked in" under the signature crease. This new 2 series has an additional line that stretches out to the rear fender. Drastically improves the look of the car. It takes cues from the 4er.

Cannot wait to see an M235i on the road.

Will I buy it? Probably not. I like the size of the 3/4 coupe. They fit adults comfortably if you need it and have more space in the cabin which I like.

haha! i can definitely see that being a polarizing feature. Honestly i think the LCI E82 made the headlights look smaller with the 'brow' above it. I actually prefer the pre-LCI headlights that are larger...but it's a matter of taste!

mine:
I do like the LCI better, yours looks hot!

I generally prefer the last generation designs over the current ones, but I'm really liking the design on the 2er so far! Might be my next one!
This car is perfectly sized, IMO. Back to the e46!

It doesn't look outdated at all, except the color is a bit...Honda Civic. The M2 is going to be great.

Seems like BMW can slap a badge on anything and ppl will love it. Also there wont be an M2. Thats why they made a M235i. By the time they developed it and announced it the life cycle for this current generation would be over.

M2 is coming, but as Scott hinted, it won't be tomorrow. Meaning it probably won't be coming until near end of production cycle of the F22.

Think of the time frame from when the e82 was introduced to when the 1M hit the market.

I think the color of the car is making it look girly... but overall I can't wait to get one

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Yes, if you live in a left hand drive country. The drivetrain options for the 2 series will be the same as the 1 series and the M135i is already available with xDrive but not in right hand drive countries like the UK.
