So....looks like the last word is I-6 for the M2??? Come on everyone, there's probably a lot more discussion that can be had about this car that ///M Division ISN'T reading right now and might just be interested in.
With the car being 2+ years away I think it's important that prospective owners and enthusiasts chime in with everything they hope this car to be!! I'm going to add to the discussion thus far with the hopes that Individual options will be available for this car. Should be, as it's an ///M, but because it's in the 2 family (and new 1ers in Europe) which hasn't ever been able to be "individualized", I'm not sure. Anyone else in for the ability for unique paint, interior leather, etc, etc???

The fact that the BMW Individual program didn't come stateside in 2012 probably means it's never coming, which is a bit of a slap in the face for all US BMW buyers. The new 3, the M5, and the M6 all launched without a peep about individual options. Scott26 mentions BMW being "global" quite often, but this and many other areas seem to prove otherwise. I'm curious how long the tropes of the industry will continue from the company who is in a leadership role. Of course, its not just BMW. I would love an Audi s3 hatch here, or a Golf R with DSG, but... yeah. |

.....and besides the I-6 with the bazillion ft-lbs of torque as requested above (and I'm assuming you we're talking about the 6 lol) I'd like the option of a B&O sound system please. HK and Individual just don't cut it anymore.

Just do us a favor BMWUSA, make sure to provide enough of them to us enthusiasts so we can ACTUALLY buy one. Standing there with money but can't buy is frustrating......I'm still a tad bitter about the 1M limited run.

I REALLY hope BMW is listening to us....Indeed a 6cyl would be much better than a 4cyl and for a M2 a MUST. Also one of the most important things i hope they do is to keep the GREAT hydrolic steering..at least for the M. Going electric in every manufacturers cars including Porsche has been a negative....And i felt the same when i have been test driving other cars and even BMW's that have made the switch...The Ultimate Driving Machine should stay Ultimate....and although electric steering is fast it is also quite a bit more numb and dull. IMO not for a M car.

I agree, many of the 1Ms were purchased by car flippers who try to profit from a limited production car.
