Yea, and I also asked the SA if they could urethane it on instead, and he's getting back to me as they weren't intending on sending it to a body shop and don't "typically" deviate from factory mounting solutions.. Either way, if it happens again with the adhesive tape, I'll urethane it on myself. Never had body parts come off of any cay I've owned. Small issue though, one of few issues I've had with the now 3 year old car.

A new spoiler has been ordered, it will arrive on Friday. I'll drop the car off on Monday morning and then the body shop will be removing the old one and installing the new one. Hopefully the body shop will have better luck than the normal techs. I should get the car back next Wednesday, just in time to take it on a 1500 mile road trip.

I installed the àr Design 200-cell catted downpipe on my car last night! Even though I had to do the job on my back, install was a breeze. The only pain in the ass came at the very end, when trying to reconnect the lower o2 sensor. It seems like the bung is about an inch lower than the stock unit, and I probably spent close to 30 minutes trying to make it work. The wire is stretched to the absolute limit which worries me.
BUT! The sound with the MPE is phenomenal. The tone of the car on cold start isn't much different - just noticeably louder. As I was leaving my driveway and heard the overrun burbles in comfort mode with just a warm exhaust though, I was ecstatic. The sound upon accelerating is a big step forward, it blips/"farts" on upshifts now (reminiscent of a Golf R or RS3/TTRS, I think), and the overrun burbles/pops are frightening now (similar to the CLA45 I drove - much more violent). I was hoping this mod would make me fall in love with the car again, and keep me from looking to trade-in (I have a problem). Mission accomplished!

I fitted a pipercross air filter with the M2 lower air box and removed the sound insulation from the bonnet

you wouldn't notice it if you were listening to any music in the car. you need to drive with all music off and if you can disable ASD then you'll notice with the windows down. there must be some improvement on sound and a tad on power though. anyway made me happy

I am extremely happy with it - the extra power is definitely noticeable. I routinely drove it in sport mode before the tuning, and was very happy with it, but I love the difference now after tuning. I appreciate the extra power on-demand on the highway or when on a winding back road. I have no plans to run the car on a track - its my everyday driver. The M240 stock performance is great, but for me I just love the extra oomph which it now has! Cost approx $1,500, installed by my BMW dealership. With the matching warranty I feel it was well worth it.

My M240xi is my daily driver as well, but would love some more power to play with now and then. Glad to hear people are having no regrets. |

Did both (not necessarily in that order) on Sunday, along with a good cleaning and vacuuming of the interior as well on Saturday.
Also just installed an Escort 9500 with mirror mount and mirror tap.

Thanks. Maybe CAI will be next. Do you feel that mod makes a nice difference too?

I like it, but I like the MPE more. So if you're doing one or the other I'd go that route.

Clay bar and Meguiar's Gold Class Carnuba wax. The paint feels so slippery smooth after a clay treatment it's almost irresistible - I've been back out to the garage two or three times already just to feel how smooth it is.
I'm still using the old school clay bar. Has anyone tried the clay bar alternatives like Nanoskin Autoscrub or Chemical Guys Clay Block?

Quick bath for her over the weekend and I enjoyed the sights with a Dogfish Head 120min IPA. Now we wait for the Stage 1 install on Thursday.
