years ago i had a portable weber (it looks like they call it th ‘go anywhere’ now), i used it just about every weekend of the summer (wakeboarding, i do miss it), it travels well, the legs fold up and keep the top in place. it works well, but you need to adjust your expectations. it’s great for burgers and hot dogs, you can do chicken or pork tenderloin.

if you overload it, or look too often it has a hard time recovering, very little thermal mass.

edit: it looks like you got the one i had, it’s ok

Thanks that's pretty much inline with what I expect for 42 bucks. Simple and good enough for some burgers and hot dogs. Good tip on not overloading it.

That little Weber worked out pretty well for $42. Cooked 4 burgers or 8 hot dogs at a time and think it could easily handle 6 burgers at a time without overloading. Downsides (if anyone is thinking of a portable grille): went out a few times / need to block wind, handle on cover and metal near push start get ridiculously hot and what a greasy mess inside and out to clean when done. Overall thought can't complain for the price.

I got a new grill accessory to play with. I made a 'Hana Japan' (a local restaurant out here) style dinner. I made the soup, fired rice, veggies and chicken.

I had difficulty sleeping with so much food in my belly. Youngest made crack biscuits, brownies AND marble cake, niece brought a killer spinach salad and wifey whipped up some taters

Caught those the night before. Cost me about $60 for a round of drinks when we got back to the dock about 10:30

I decided to try something new. I got some tri-tip, and built a fire in the oven. Turned out great, next time I will probably have less of a rolling flame. I cooked 3, the first two (in the picture) needed to be cooked more for the kids and most of the women that were over like their meat cooked past medium. The third one I cooked med-rare, delicious!

it hurts me to over cook good meats, some times i just won’t do it, i’ll take it to medium on request, anything past that, put it back on yourself!

also, i just order a countertop grain mill, shit is getting real around here!

this is with Applewood rub and olive oil. i'll tenderize it with kosher salt for about 1.5 hrs before hand...wash it off than the rub and let it refrigerate for the day. I usually do this in the morning

not much to see yet, but i milled wheat for the first time tonight and made two different types of pizza dough, one is my new favorite, it has the texture of naples style, with more flavor like NY, the other is one i have never tried, its roman style (according to one of my books, and a google search, I have never been anywhere to verify such things).

It has oil, sugar, and salt in the dough, all mixed in at the same time, it is supposed streatched very thin in a rectangular shape, and be very crunchy, cracker like.

We will find out tomorrow!

This is a thoroughly dangerous thread to read at night. I was fine before I clicked on it. Now I'm hungry.

Some awesome looking food here. Wish I had the time and resources to learn how to do this. But Wifey eats meat only occasionally, so spending hours on it like you guys do would be a waste. Can I just come over to your houses?
