@eclaxton - I believe it is in the M-performance catalog for the M235i. However, it shows up as "TBD" so it doesn't seem like there is a solid part number for it yet. Once my exhaust was broken in coupled with the downpipe, it sounds WAY better than in the videos. Also, here is a link to the parts for future reference: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=965694
@Chunner - Its already obvious we both have different views on this and you're more concerned about intake air temperatures while I am looking for the ability to move a higher volume of air at higher boost. I already understand the air will be hotter and never doubted that. I've only stated that it will be potentially less hot than it can be with the heatshield and air duct still in place. But my view still stands, along with the bunch of boosted BMW dynosheets that the intake does make extra ponies with the hood up or down. If you are that into the IAT, you may check out the BMS website where they've done extensive testing on the "hot air myth" and made a thread about it with actual relevant data. If you want to solidify your beliefs, I suggest you do the same instead of just posting up a video from YouTube . @secono330ci - Here's a dyno sheet of the BMS intake with the hood down. It doesn't look like it comes from only the hood up . http://www.burgertuning.com/images/filterdyno.jpg Last edited by JustinCredibleM; 04-10-2014 at 01:43 PM.. |

From the Burger dyno sheet, hood down with filter get you 14HP or am I reading that wrong? While I believe you're likely to get a bit more power, 14HP seems like a lot just for a filter.

It seems about right, but the dyno sheet is from the N54, so I am unfamiliar with how potent that engine is. I am going to the dyno tomorrow, so I'll do some testing of my own and see what it pulls out with hood closed and opened.

If I had to quantify it, then I am going to say its about 10% louder. Then after you break it in, then probably 15% louder. But besides getting louder, it also sounds deeper, which is nice. If you're in comfort mode and driving around town or highway, its almost identical to stock from inside the cabin (with windows up). Sport mode or windows down, you can hear more of a growl. Its not an obnoxious exhaust by any means and has zero drone going up hills. I kind of wish it was louder .

Best M performance exhaust setup I have heard yet! Congrats Justin! Holy cow!!! What affect would you say the downpipe has on the sound of the M performance exhaust (if any)? I am not very familiar with down pipes. Do they increase performance or enhance the sounds? |

@alpinweiss 335i - Thank you
The downpipe will enhance the performance since it removes the stock catalytic coverter. And since the stock CAT acts as a muffler, it makes it a 'bit louder and more aggressive sounding as well . |

Inside the cabin it's loud as well when getting on it and has a finely tuned sound. If you want even more sound you can go after the Downpipe which both of us have done, and that will give you angry aggressive sound whenever you want, and ECO mode silences it all away with a flick of a button. Which is a nice unintended feature.

Carbon tips are just that, tips. They replace the chrome tips and are the same style as the m4.
They are available in uk but are about $600 for the pair and that's on top of the exhaust! |

BMW's cold air intake is already the best intake you can have. You might get better airflow by changing the air filter and thats about it. All the aftermarket claims are sucking hot air. It all results the same formula but with alot more behind the scene drama. Car sucks hot air ecu/sensors compensate, all resulting the same air/fuel mixture.
Unless you have a tune then you can adjust some settings Anyways...who cares, it looks good and sounds good, enjoy it
