Car being shipped to Charleston.
6/25/2014 - production started 7/2/2014 - finished production 7/9/2014 - arrived at port (it took 7 days to build the car but then took a week to travel 3 hours from BMW to port) 7/14/2014 - still at port (my guess, won't leave until 7/17 or 7/18 based on boat schedule. I might be pleasantly surprised that I make it onto AIDA but I doubt it.) If BMW could speed up their transit, think of the money they would save by turning over their inventory faster. |

Sorry guys.
It was weird. I took a chance and typed in my VIN today expecting to see the "nothing found" red letters from hell. I was surprised to see it was already on boat (Elektra) that left port on 7-11-14. I had called for an update on 7-12 but was told it was at port awaiting a shipping vessel. I guess the system may be a day or two behind. |

To me, it looks like the wwl site is not very accurate. It can be several days behind. I'm not sure if the 800 # people get more up to date info than what the wwl tracking says. Ehaggerty, in your case I don't think using the % makes a difference. And, it could even be on another shipping line. 3 boats go to charleston this week. The 2 that leave later in the week get their sooner.

my [build week 26 (MY14)] was sitting a port for a week then I got the update it had been loaded on a boat that left port 2 days earlier - so it seems the status update is lagging a bit (human@ 800#)
good luck that you find your already on water heading to america by the next update. |

Per BMW 800 Number:
Production to be completed July 18th. And what's really cool is that the deposit was made July 5th, & they put it into the system July 7th! John Waiter's Club: M235i |

jpccarguy good on you. I put my deposit down 6/19 and was supposed to get my dealers first 2015 allocation. Is supposed to complete production today. Are you doing PCD? My CA says not until September for me.

Since I live in Asheville, only about an hour away from the plant in Greer, I'm planning PCD. BUT, I want to have the LSD added, so I need to see if BMW can do it, or do I have to do it through the dealer. Also, I've taken the Zentrum and plant tours several times, when I had my Z3 M Coupe. The thrill is less (not gone), now that they're only building X cars (last I heard). I'd like to get my wife on the track, and PCD's a good way for her to dip a toe in the water. AND, the dealer says PCD will delay my delivery by one to two weeks, compared to just picking it up in Asheville. So the jury's still out on PCD. Cheers, John |
