What a weapon!
I'm curious on what turbo they've bolted to this latest gen N55. I'd love to see the torque curve and response too. Like others I can't see the new M2 putting out numbers better than this. It would very much be creeping on the toes of a certain M3/M4...

444! The new devils number. Agree with some on the wing but its not out of place on a tuned to the max car.
The rear wheel arch flares are the first thing I noticed, looks terrific.

This car tells me one thing and one thing only (even though a tuning company has influenced the car's performance), when the M2 is released, it will be the best car on the market PERIOD! It will be my sole mission to have one in my garage; alpine white (or mineral white) with black wheels and yellow brake calipers

Looks great! Would be awesome to see this ext. and int. kit be offered for street cars
Minus the huge rear wing that is. Good for track, not very applicable for street use. |

The roll cage is going in this week. The car was literally finished the night before. The wing is very functional at high speeds, on the track. This car is headed to the 'Ring - so stay tuned.

Last week there were testings for the autobild sportscars magazine.
manhart, lightweight and versus shown up. manhart first, on the next day lightweight and versus this week. would have been a chance to compete with the others!

^^That is because the Tuner Grand Prix(aka High Perf Days) is coming up at Hockenheim in a few weeks. You will be seeing lots more HiPerf cars soon.

I 'know' one of those Tuningwerk guys from the German 1series forum. They have/had a 1M running 640 crank bhp and afaik for a trackday at Hockenheim they tuned it to 740bhp. N54 basis. But it became rather undrivable , the way I read it.
So this is a nice excercise what we can expect from the (if) upcoming M2. A good car needs good brakes, a real limited slip diff, a nice chassis, good steering and plenty of power( preferable to the rear wheels ) plus if possible a manual box This rather expensive thing better be faster/ better than the stock 1M because about 80bhp more on tap Furthermore I wouldn't throw 30k US $ into an original 1M myself, but I bet it will be the better car to begin with, because 1M's basis is more Motorsport inside than a M235i in the first place. N54 is easier tunable thus cheaper to do so. But I like it. Minus the rear wing Cheers Robin |

This would have been a test under the same conditions! At least almost, since the car which will be tested this week should have more grip because of the higher outdoor temperature!

Why the wing hate? Does anyone one doubt that it is fully functional? Why would they add 5-10lbs with no returned benefit?
I would hate the wing on a street or show car, but here it may be necessary due to the competitive nature and track orientation of the car. This ain't no show pony. Asking them to take off the wing is like asking them to put the stock tires back on. Would make no sense. |
