Went looking for matsutakes today, was not disappointed. Texture of a tender steak, aroma of old gym socks but sauteed they are an ambrosial delight!

Bet there were some old vintage players there too.

Love both those groups.

Saw the Eagles when they were young; at the California Jam in 1974. There were some other choice groups there too.

. I wish I had been there.

I love guitars, but I can`t play at all. My oldest son is a pretty good guitar player. He loves guitars so much that he builds guitar pedals in his spare time as a hobby.

I would love to be able to play too; I've tried and failed. Guess I'm relegated to listening, which I'll 'settle' for because that's quite entertaining and a whole hellufa lot of fun.

He tried teaching me, but I`m terrible that he gave up and said for me to stick to my daily job and forget about being a rock star

In the UK, we have a tribute band named Talon, they are absolutely fantastic, anyone in the UK who loves Eagles, get to see them, you will not be disappointed. honest

As a hobby musician, what I have found when learning new instruments is that most people who try to learn and fail are both trying to learn the instrument AND how to read music at the same time, and they get frustrated that they cannot get a recognisable tune out quickly.

Learn to read music first on a simple single note instrument (such as a cheap keyboard) - you can even put stickers on the notes with the note names on), and once you are comfortable with that, pick up the guitar and all you are then learning is where the notes are on the guitar, as you can already read the music. Ones you know where the notes are, then you can move on to chords and more complex stuff.

I learned to read music at an early age in school with recorder, then guitar, then organ and have stuck with the organ for over 45 years (so far).

I decided I wanted to play the clarinet a few years ago, and purchased a used clarinet on eBay, the music is single stave and single notes, and I was playing a proper tune within 3 hours, as all I had to learn was where the notes were.

Don’t give up, just chunk it in to smaller pieces, then you will be able to enjoy.
