All I need to do is get some time to rotate my rears to the front for initial fitment, and order myself the smaller spacers. I think it'll work, but if it does I don't think the 265 RE71 is gonna stay, it'd have to be 255 square, which with that tire on a 9.5" rim, is perfect imo. I could do 265 Trofeo R's and that may be an option as my local street classes require them. Will keep you posted, on how that all goes! 9.5" square has been done now by a few members already, but offsets will be everything.

EC-7 in 18x8.5 & 18x9.5
I finally got my back-ordered EC-7s & spacers from the recent group buy, but the extended wheel bolts are still on back order.
I had the tires mounted, but I can only look lustfully at the wheels/tires in my garage while I wait for my wheel bolts to arrive... Car: '17 M240i, OE suspension Wheels: EC-7 in Anthracite, 18x8.5 ET45 Front, 18x9.5 ET58 Rear Spacers: 5mm F&R Tires: Michelin PS A/S 3+, 235/40 Front, 265/35 Rear I can't wait to get these on the car. I'll post pictures of the car when I do. Edit: I tried to get the picture to post right side up, but no luck...

I want to do exactly this. Wheels are a little over $1k and RE71s are under $600. Great budget set-up. Any feedback? May run lowering springs for a short while and then over to nice coilovers. Weekend and hpde car only. |

@SkyeC
Lots of questions actually - been debating these for a winter set. Stock brakes and suspension? Any issues up front? Spacers? I want to get a set but don't want to modify anything or run spacers, and Apex wasn't 100% sure. Thanks in advance!

Hopefully someone can answer! Never seen a marque with such a disparity in fitment comments.
My GTI could fit bigger tires and wheels than these cars!! |

I actually have those exact wheels mounted on my E46. Next time my F23 goes in for service I'll take one and have the dealer test fit. I'll keep you posted.

I think that will make a lot of us who would like to run this setup. I could have sworn someone in another thread confirmed that they have the 17x8.5 et40 setup with no spacers or issues. I've been searching nonstop but I can't find it. Might make this a winter setup and try to dump the stock wheels (currently have the winter tires on them) as I don't want to ever put them back on the car again!
I'd love to switch out my summer Arc 8 setup for a winter Arc 8 setup! |

These wheels don't require spacers to clear. Depending on the coilover you choose, you may need to run a spacer in the front. They may not be the best setup for winter if snow builds up inside the barrel of the wheels as their brake clearance is much worse than 18s. -Tom

Thanks for the details! it seems maybe removing the damper is the best option. On ecs website rear ebc yellow seem to bring same oem damper according to picture., its possible the dampers are smaller then stock I guess.

18x8.5 45, 5mm spacer in front, 245/35 square set-up on M240i.
No rubbing. Plan to add camber plates in front and then get a good track-oriented alignment. Million times better feeling than the stock 225/245 stagger. |
