i said it before, the M2 may be the catalyst this 2Addicts Oz forum needs. It's been pretty inactive most of the time but that said, those who comes along to contribute have been great. The M2 may bring a larger group of previous 1er owners from 1Addicts who have had plenty of mod experience and ready to start again with another small bimmer, provided they have not already moved onto M3/M4 or better things with other marques.

The M4 boomerang brace is very unusual design. Normal design would require bracing elements to be straight sections. Elastic modulus of CF being limited, I have to question how much it really adds the bracing, and how much is it just there for eye candy. TBH, I suspect the latter of the two.

I'm not sure if I'm totally convinced with the M2. I mean it does look good. But I don't think it's as "flairy" as I hoped.
I think the car is a little "restricted" in terms of development, I'm sure designers, engineers etc. were constantly reminded not to "beat the M3/M4" Interior is probably the most disappointing, all they did was put the M logo on all 4 seats, blue stitching and a little bit of alcantara on the doors. The carbon trims are very similar to the M performance ones (I actually prefer the alcantara). Bonnet, roof and boot remains the same. Only 60mm and 100mm wider front and rear respectively. Engine is debatable, I think the current engine is good, and an extra 40 odd HP is also good but is that enough? (in saying that M cars have never really been about the engine). The chassis is what I think most people will buy the car for, it's reconstructed from the already very good 2 chassis. I really think small things like the carbon spoiler, alcantara steering wheel, basically all the m performance bits should be standard. Anyways, it's unlikely I'll switch from the M235i to M2. As the difference is not too big. But if I didn't drive a M235i already, the predicted driveaway prize of $120k+ is a bit steep, I think I'd go closer towards the M3/M4 instead.

I like it. A lot. I couldn't give 2 f's about the interior difference or otherwise. They have made some important changes to the suspension and engine. Understandable they have detuned it a little so as to not p$$$ off the more expensive M owners, and this is easily remedied.

Price is around $100,000 according to this article - http://www.motoring.com.au/news/2015...2-m4-gts-54656
Not sure how accurate it is though. M4 GTS is $250,000 |

I was told 116k-120k, which is pretty specific. And asked if I wanted to put an expression of interest down. I would get crucified having only been in the 235i for a few months....nonetheless......
