During development it was exactly color matched the the wavelength of bmw orange, it's just super bright so you have to have a good camera or else it blows out and looks yellow instead of the deep orange color... helps if you put the gauge into "dim" mode for pictures.

Got the green light email today, too.
I paid within five minutes, LOL I never thought not having a temp gauge would be so annoying! Just that in itself will be worth it! Looking forward to it, and the extra discount was a nice touch. Thanks P3 Cars!

So did we get the with vent $370 or without vent $300
Order payment in....I went the cheaper route and got the install in my own vent unit. I figure when it comes tile to move the car I will just leave it in. Last edited by horsepower_and_hounds; 10-29-2014 at 06:27 AM.. |

For simplicity and time sake, I opted for with vent at $370. Easy to take it out in the future, no trying to remember how to re-assemble vent
Great deal and free shipping, we really got hooked up for a nice product. |

Just unplug the ob2 and tuck away the cable...highly doubt anyone will notice the gauge when its not on
And if they do see te gauge and ask, say its a bluetooth iphone app display...they cant deny warranty work on that

The gauge itself won't void anything... no more than plugging in any obd2 device, which obviously wouldn't. Obd2 is a legislated mandated standardized and protected connector... by law it must be within 2 feet of the steering wheel and be accessible to the customer. All cars since 1996 have this same connector for that reason. If it was up to BMW, they would lock you out... but they have to give you or your chosen repair center a mandated minimum level of access by law. The only thing is that the plug would be in the way, so as you said, best to just unplug it and tuck the obd2 cable up into the dash for dealer visits. Worst I have ever heard after thousands of customers running these on their bmw's since we launched in 2008 is one dealer that forced the customer to take it out before they would work on the car, but nothing was voided... its a diagnostics device, it doesn't alter the vehicle in any way. |
