Agreed. I just had my 30K service on my 135, and all they did was change the oil, microfilter, and wiper blades. I shit you not.

This despite the fact that I am getting a vibration in the brake pedal under hard braking. Their answer to this--"yes, there is significant wear on the pads and rotors, but not yet within spec to replace under warranty. You are, of course, always welcome to replace at your own cost."

This is a very important question, will BMW be releasing a regular 235i or will they be phased out by the m235i. This leads me to believe that the 235i and m235i will estentially be the same car with the m235i having the M badges littered all over the car. What would make this car special enough to warrent it over a 235i?

Are they calling he new iS cars Mx35i cars? (for a price premium?) This will be one of the first Mx35i cars to hit eh US shores and I hope its more than a tune and body enhancements, we deserve better. here's to hoping. And he's to hoping the M2 is not xdrive or 4 cylinger, automatic.

Yeah, or at least more versions of the 3 wagon.

Now that's funny, because my experience with BMW warranty work as been the complete opposite- I really do think it depends on the dealer. I got that same "within spec" garbage and other bs from BMW of San Antonio, but BMW of Austin? They went so far above and beyond things they should do under the service plan, that its an important buying point for me.

Also, yeah, I think that's how it's going to go for the US market. M performance will replace iS models. So we'll get-

228i
235i
M235i

If you look at the pricing/performance, I can't see the iS sticking around.

Concur, it's all about your service guy. I've been lucky to have great relationships with mine at three dealers now, Crevier in SoCal and both Moritz and BMW of Dallas. Our 135i had the front rotors and pads replaced at around 35k miles and they threw in new rear rotors and pads that weren't quite tripping the light when I took the car in a few weeks before the warranty ran out at around 42k miles. It all worked out for them as we traded the car in the next week, but I'd still suggest that if you're having issues with warranty work, it's time to try another dealer.

The only 235i will be the M235i which will be the replacement for the E82 135i M Sport.

We should be able to see it here. And it will be my next car if the pricing isn't too far off.

What will fill in the price range for in between?

A 128i currently is $31,000
135i is $39,000
135is is $43,000

My next car will hopefully be a 2 series. My current 1er is out of warranty in december and I will be looking at ordering a new 2 series by then.

I doubt the 2 series will be cheaper than the current 1 series. So i could see the 228i going for 33k and the M235i for 45k.

I was sort of hoping of just getting a stock 235i with no options since my budget for my next car is about 40k tops : (

Awesome.

Dumb question, but what becomes of those late test mules? Do they get crushed, dismantled and parted out, or sold as company demos?

And will there be a 4 door m2? Or a wagon M235i with a stick?

I think you are both right - I bought from David Aviles in Baltimore, but get my car serviced in Indy. Night and day difference in the way that things like this are addressed.

At the end of the day, I suppose it doesn't matter since I will turn the car in before any of this matters, but this definitely takes away from the overall experience.

Now, if I just knew when the M2 would be available....

According to Scott26, there is a 4-door and a Veloster style hatchback in the works. Bear in mind that since no prototypes have been spotted, so these rumors are only slightly better than speculative.

Every BMW prototype you see from test prototype to launch vehicle used in media marketing be it an M3 , 2er Coupe and even the i8 is recycled and crushed.

The Veloster type Gran Sports Tourer could appear as a concept as of now it is a clay model but is no less sportier than a Coupe. Given that the 2002 has led to the 2er and its classic shape. The GST takes its cue from the 2002 touring which was more of a coupe-like fastback rather than a wagon.

Since production begins in November, we should see it get its public debut latest at the 2013 Frankfurt auto show in September.

But will the M235i get any suspension treatment that the E82 135i didnt? Is this just a "rebadge" in a sense?

The M 235i will effectively be the Coupe variant of the M135i available in Europe. Of course designated the 2er. But with the standard 2er Coupe receiving a more sportier suspension and steering changes over the F20 expect the M235i to progress these changes further possibly giving you slight goosepimples. Saving full goosepimples for the M2.

Does anyone know if an M235i xDrive 6MT is coming to Canada? If so, that would be the perfect car and I'd hold off on the 4 series.
