There should be nothing confusing about the Head Unit. As I already explained to you in reply to your PM, you have HU_ENTRY. After chnaging FA, simply load modified FA in coding module and right click on HU_ENTRY and select code, same as you would for HU_CHAMP, HU_CIC, HU_NBT, etc.
Okay. I will attempt again a little later today. I'm pretty sure I have (CMB_MEDIA) too.

If all else fails, PM me.

I'm no expert, but I did manage to get it to work, and I can meet up to help you out.

Awesome. shawnsheridan has been helping me. I'm hoping this week we will get it squared away. But perhaps in the future. Thanks for your help I managed to get the extended USB plugin to work. Sounds waaay better than the 3.5mm input.

I've read with the snap in phone adapter one feature is it uses the cars antenna to help with cell reception. Is that true in any other case without the snap in? Does it require a certain package? Extended usb/ Bluetooth? Tech package? Coding possible?

I have 6NS coded and text messages don't show up. I don't have the tech package. Is it supposed to work?

VLD can be coded as long as I have the lighting package?
2 steps. Remove 8S4 then Code FEM_BODY. correct?

No token needed right?

Reading some old posts I realized in the definition of the Lighting Package it includes VLD. But it seems no one got it. False advertising? Or is their definition of VLD, lights move side to side and up and down.

Nice, I'll read through the link. Pressing on the (i) and making sure notifications are turned on is my last option.
I have a 228 but I purchased the $900 lighting package.
I was just making sure enabling the VLD is solely a VO change. Thanks!

Sorry if this is off topic from the 2 series. Is there any difference when you code a 2014 535d versus a 2014 M5. Any special or extra steps? Im really worried about messing something up.

not sure if this helps but I don't have the tech package and I was able to get the Office functions to work. Well, the text messages. haven't messed with emails yet but from reading the f30 forums it sounds like it might be possible. It just isn't something I care too much about so we'll see when I get around to it

Can I code a temperature gauge to show on the dash?

Hi pikcachu looks as though you've put in a lot of effort to help others here it's appreciated. I'm new to the forum as I was looking for a way to improve some of the features on my car. My biggest annoyance is the lack of an engine temperature gauge and I cannot find any mention anywhere of this being an item that can be coded onto the dash etc. Wondered if that is something you are aware of? I appreciate any help you can offer.

It can't....

you can access it through the hidden menu but you have to do it every time you start the car or you can get it through like the P3 gauge but it's around $350....

other option is to use an app with a phone connected wirelessly to an odb2 port adapter.... http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1083154

Since my dealer can't give me a straight answer, I'll give it a shot and ask here.

If one were special ordering a new US spec M235i and elected to order the "Tech Package", would the remote ConnectedDrive services work in Germany as well as the states or would some of them only work in certain regions of the world?

If the ConnectedDrive services in fact won't work in Germany, can any coding be done for them to be enabled while in Germany. I ask because I will be located in Germany for the next 2 1/2 years and would just like to know if they could at least be coded to work while I'm here if they won't be enabled from the factory for my current region.

My dealer can't give me a straight yes or no answer to this. All they can say is they "might" or "might not" work here in Germany. Seriously?!?!?!?

Here's what I'm referring to:
http://www.bmw.com/…/2013/services_a..._services.html

If anyone knows for sure. I would be interested to hear it. Thanks in advance!

Check this thread http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...onnected+drive

some people who ordered where also having some issues

problem is that is not just coding ... the services have to be enabled on the bmw servers, else they would block it...

Thanks for posting that pikcachu!! Yep, I'm definitely un-checking that block. There's no way I'm dealing with that mess when I get back to the states.
