Another 5,000-mile oil change done. Just passed 95,000 miles...may do trans & diff fluid again soon at 100k, plus spark plugs.

On a side note, for those who use MHD. There's a dropdown in the tunes for whichever HPFP you have. Stock and TU HPFP are in the same option, then it's DS1, then DS2.

All else equal, does changing from the stock/TU HPFP to DS2 = more power?

When the car was 100% stock, it backfired on the stock pump. Installing the TU HPFP fixed that. But I'm curious to see/hear if upgrading from TU to DS2 or even DS1 and selecting it in the tune will result in any difference.

Been running Chevron 91 octane with 1-1.5 gal of E85 but stage 2, 91 octane map.

Found some residue around the oil thermostat so I had the gaskets replaced. Need to install my MaLo crank guard, belt, and new pulleys.

Ditched the aftermarket wheels that gave me a high speed vibration and went back to stock. Happy driver again.

Glad to hear they're still getting it done! I discovered them in ~1980 when the founders (Joe, Gordon & Carl) were just getting started after leaving the BMW dealer - they were working on 2002s then. Is Wayne still there?

Had a great cruise last Friday in the warm weather here in MN. Then something random happened. Ran over a flattened copper pipe going 35 mph. I did not see this piece but heard a clunk and felt some scraping. I'm going to have a shop take a look to see if any damage occurred aside from the gash in the underbody guard. Super annoyed this happened but it does make for a pretty sweet picture.

Ah that sucks! Hopefully it didn't pierce anything important under there. Not sure where the pic is taken from, looks to be between the lift points towards the edge of the car?

I had a run-in with a block of ice a couple months ago and it wasn't a cheap fix.

The metal struck the bottom of the car under the drivers side floormat as far back as the car's mirror, and about 4-5 inches in from the edge of the car. I'm getting quotes right now on having a shop do an inspection, take some pics, etc of what it looks like beneath the underbody guard.

There is so much crap on the roads in Minnesota. They used to do a better job of cleaning up but not any more. I've hit random debris twice since November. The first cost me a tire. The second I'm not sure did anything but I'm having the guys at Orr Autosport check it out Wednesday.

The annoying thing is that all the SUVs and trucks just fly over all the trash / pot holes like nothing.

Yes, 100% agree. It's crazy what you see out there when you are looking for it. In this case I was scouring the road (as I have been with my new car) and I still didn't see it or could prevent it. This was on county road 110 just west of Mound. If I remember I though you said you drove out in the west metro a bit. I tend to go cruising that way as there are some nice open roads.

My folks at Imola are looking at the car this Friday so we will see if any additional damage occurred.

Damn - sorry to hear that happened with the new car. Hope nothing of any significance was damaged.

Yep. Co Rd 110 turns to Co Rd 83 at Watertown Rd before it intersects Hwy 12. Drive by there every day.

I hit the debris that took out my tire on Hwy 610. My latest incident was on Hwy 100 in SLP. I've also noted that road maintenance is on the decline so more potholes go unfilled longer. Thankfully our mild winter was less harsh on the roads this year.

No issues. I have .8° to .9° front neg camber and 1.7° rear. Did the springs improve cornering speeds and body roll much for you?
Good question, I dont know the answer but personal opinion would be same or similar wheel well clearance on coupe vs convertible. Front camber is not adjustable I think so should be pretty similar, I think my rear Is 1.9. The springs definitely tighten up body roll. Its not much but its noticeable. Will it improve cornering speeds? this will highly depends on you as driver. Personally while I feel that I drive corner more confidently, I dont feel like I hit corner faster.

Yesteday, sparkplugs on the daughters impreza, it was no fun in summary, lol.
Today, back on the bimmer, first drained the oil catch can.
Next gonna pull the TU pump off and sell it, need that last little financial bump to buy the Dorch DS25. Putting the oem hpfp back on in the meantime.
I'll have the TU hpfp posted for sale later today.

Got spring PM coming up, wanting to replace both the vanos solenoids on the back of the head, where's the go to for those these days?

Just reached 140,000 miles. Had to do the valve cover gasket (I replaced the valve cover just in case too). I also did the MST turbo inlet since there was work needed in that same area. I should’ve done the turbo inlet pipe a long time ago. Don’t be like me and wait so long. The throttle response is so much better now; it kinda surprised me once I drove it after the install.
