- One that aims at the ashtray, located underneath the HVAC controls - Two that aim at the center console, located in the roof next to the SOS button - One each in the footwells They are not very bright even at full intensity. That adjustment, as well as switching them between BMW orange and white, is available through iDrive.

I wish the temperatures could be tied to AC on or off. I usually keep the vents at 60 with AC off but that is too cold with it running. Add to that having to dial both knobs separately, it becomes a chore.

I don't understand. If the ac is off,the air is not going to be cooled. There is no point in having the car at 60 and no ac on.

There is if hes driving around when the outside ambient temperature is close to that and he just wants it to blow in air that temperature.

Quiet?
Test drove a GTI, I liked it but road noise from the tires were bad.
Are the 2 Series BMW more quiet? Subframes? The changes that have made too many cars loud. http://elevatingsound.com/a-crucial-...car-subframes/ |

I've owned both a GTI and the M235i. There's a huge difference: the BMW is much, much quieter (factoring out the ASD which I've disabled). |

The 235 I drove recently with MPSS didnt have much of any road noise....which was nice because it made it easier to hear the engine

I hate that my coupe will belong to someone else on Saturday I'm going to miss it. Although the new convertible will soften the sting

It could be mental but I believe the ambient air flowing in with AC off, say at 72, makes the cabin feel warmer than the dried cooled air at that temp with AC on. I know there are times when I cycle the air and feel uncomfortable until I drop it down. Does auto cycle the compressor or just modify fan speed? I'm coming from the completely basic unit of the '08 civic so I have a habit of turning the AC off fully whenever I can stand it. Maybe I am doing more than I need to.

How tall are you? At 6'1, should I be concerned?

6'2, but I have a 28" inseam. Most people my height have an inseam in the 34-36" range. In other words, I have the torso of someone about 6'8, and the legs of someone about 5'8, if they are more normally proportioned. Picture a gorilla and you will have the general idea...
If you aren't built like a really tall gorilla, you can probably even get the sunroof and still fit just fine. I can just barely wear a helmet in the car with the sunroof delete. The issue is exacerbated by the fact that the seat tracks are angled - as the seat comes forward, it also goes UP some.

Rather nitpicky complaints for me:
-Lack of grab handle in a natural location in the armrest when opening the door. -No true air venting through the HVAC. Our outside temps are quite reasonable and I would like to just have fresh air vent through, but BMW won't let me. It wants to add condensation if I turn the AC off, but I don't need AC when it's 65F out. -Lack of gauges for oil/tranny/coolant temps. I'd like to know as soon as I can let my right foot have fun. -Steering wheel audio controls will not scroll through the satellite channel list view. Really hating that I have to have the Blizzaks on for 2-3 more months I've had a 328 xi, E92 335xi with JB4, E92 M3, and E89 Z4 35is with ESS tune. This one has Dinan Stage 2 and the Fab Speed sport Cat on order. Of those, the M3 is first, with this a very close 2nd. But, for $25k less (did an ED), I'll keep the 235

I don't think you will have any problems, but you really should try to at least sit in one to be sure. I'm 6'0, have no sunroof, and not feeling even close. The seats have surprising up-down adjustment range (surprising I don't have to automatically bottom everything and go all the way back to feel like I fit - used to be rare to find something that I fit into w/o that). Sunroof does eat several inches, or seemed to.

Nothing...
Drove through a white out snowfall this morning on a sheet of freeway ice.. It was calm, understated and behaved as far as handling on Bridgestone WS70 tires. I watched countless cars and four wheel drive trucks slide off the road as well as semi trucks put on hazards and pull over and stop.. In the meantime, I turned the heated seats and steering wheel down because it was too hot.. Trudged into work with the grill full of fresh snow. My only bitch was lifting the wiper blades up so they didn't freeze on the windshield.... A truly fantastic car at any temperature.. #FirstWorldProblems Last edited by Deutsche-Broke; 12-12-2016 at 10:53 PM.. |
